I was wondering why he didn’t receive SEC Player of the Week honors. Turns out he had his sights set higher.
I understand there was some pretty substantial attempt(s) to poach him in the off-season. He's still a Gator . . . which speaks to his character, IMO. The kind of player and leader Coach Napier has been after since arriving.
Everyone who is currently kicking themselves for overlooking what Billy saw so clearly? What a bunch of ninnies they are for being asleep at the switch on TE? Rank speculation on my part, but...
Travis Etienne wants to watch his little brother play in person as often as possible, so that helps and was a big factor in Trevor becoming a Gator. The connection to the Jaguars could have been a sweet thing, Urban screwed that up royally. But the Etienne connection is still intact!
Loved his response after week 1 where his brother told him to play for prime, he told him to STFU. Love that kid.
Etienne was sought after but it did seem like Citizen was the prized recruit that year. He got hurt and he may end up being a great runningback but thank God we got Etienne out of the two. His game is just fun to watch. wouldn't trade it for anyone
He kinda reminds me of MJD. Montrell seems to have the wiggle though. But I’m glad to have them both.
