High School Band Director gets tazed for refusing to stop playing after a game

Assault by the police officer. Lock him up.

 

My favorite part was when the school security tried to keep the cops from arresting him. I want to hear more about that part of the story.

The cops are hired to provide additional security (itself a sad sign of the times we need so many cops at high school games and basically tactical swat teams defending major events), but not even sure why they thought they had authority to “order” the band director to stop playing. I assume someone at least instructed them, likely without expecting the cops to escalate. Obviously a dumb way to get that message across. Like the band playing 5 or 10 minutes is going to drastically change how quickly the stadium empties out. Can you imagine a cop tazing UF’s band director after a game? Completely ludicrous policing.

 

Do we know if the band was playing gangster rap? If so, then the director should have been subdued.

Like clockwork... There's always at least one person that has to bring up a positive cop story, or someone doing something bad to cops. It's like a tick.

Interesting choice of words. “Someone doing something bad to cops”. For example say….. laughing while You mow a guy riding a bike down from Behind saying “hit his ass” then leaving him to die on the side of road. Then posting it for likes. Yeah, that’s something bad to cops. So strange those stories don’t get the same outrage….but hey. He’s a cop

That's unfortunate. No one deserves that. They should be held accountable. Criminals face way more accountability than police, even when the police act criminally.

Maybe calling it a tick was wrong. I thought it was a good pun but I guess it wasn't the right time.

 

If you kept up with the news, you’d know the press reports on a wide range of incidents by and against police officers. Are you suggesting the press ought to report only on incidents against them? If not, what’s the point of your post?

 

Bottom line is a lot of cops are just regular dudes who aren’t particularly qualified to hold a position of authority.

I assume the cops are trying to clear everybody out ASAP before the inevitable Friday Night gunplay starts.

Lol. Again, the police asked for the band directors to stop playing so people would leave. All this dumb ass had to do was listen to a reasonable request. Only 1 person was tazed, and that would be the idiot who didn't listen to the police. Why is it so hard for the OP and the others to understand this. Sounds like the band director was just being a dick.
