Whatever phrase you prefer then. I was speaking of our games versus better established teams with equal or greater talent. I don’t know any unbiased person who was projected Florida to beat Tennessee at this time on Saturday. And my point stands that the real goal of this staff needs to be to consistently win against against the Kentuckys and Vanderbilts, not to occasionally upset a Tennessee or an LSU.
The part where people can get snarky about some rando criticism is usually when it comes across as being unfounded, stubbornly wrong-headed, disingenuous at some level, or just outright troll BS. A lot of the stuff that draws the ire of the "loyalists" among us was intended to do just that. It is what it is. Life goes on. GG!
I expect Daniels to give us fits again. We will need a lot of offense for that one. I hope Scooby will be a good spy on Daniels.
I think we go to Jacksonville at 6-1 ranked around 12th. UGA isnt the same this year. Throw the hurricane travel, west coast game with a new QB out. We have a very solid group.
My win-loss prediction of 6-6 is still the same. The SEC looks out of sorts this year but Florida has not shown that it can separate from the middle of the SEC. Maybe if the players are healthy they can get that separation.
I was giddily optimistic watching the game, but after coming down, I feel that this may haveen been an anomoly. I think your answer is probably the most prudent one...
We certainly wouldn't want to be imprudent, especially in giving prompt credit where it's obviously due. That might be too much like acknowledging progress, and PTS/whatever seems to pretty much rule that out for some.
How UF plays away from home against UK will be a pretty good indicator going forward. CBN and staff still trying to figure out a winning travel routine for this team. Every experience is more material to analyze what works and what doesn't. I have full confidence they will get it sorted out.
What Gator fan amongst us does not share this hope? What real Gator was not looking at the schedule and hoping for a 6 - 1 record (at least) going into UGA? Hopefully the great win over UT does not create the wrong mojo. It was a great win, but a number of pundits did predict a UF win, the table really was set for UT to stumble in Gainesville. I think the next 4 game stretch will ultimately determine just how good the season will be W - L wise. It won't be easy. Especially the road games.
I said 10-2 before the season started. I wasn't sure about Utah but I did figure we'd beat UT. I'll adjust the final record to 9-3. 10-2. Call me optimistic or a sunshine pumper, I don't care. You don't pay my bills. @ Utah - win? Mcneese - win Tennessee - win Charlotte - win @ Kentucky - win Vanderbilt - win @ South Carolina - win Georgia - loss Arkansas - win @ LSU - loss @ Missouri - win FSU - win
I don’t think it was an anomaly at all and I believe we can play like that every week. I think we can also get better and if need be, we could’ve kept it up in the second half minus Wilson.
I'm sticking with my 8-4 prediction. That includes being 6-1 heading into the UGA game. If that holds true, then hopefully my prediction for the next three doesn't hold true....
We haven’t shown any ability to be a quick strike offense, so I think we lose a game or two without the ability to come up with two quick touchdowns. Just laws of probability.
Well, if our D keeps it up and keeps improving a little bit each week we shouldn't be down more than 2 TD's, save for maybe UGA and LSU. The reason I have us losing to Arkansas is that we have had a lot of weird games against West teams. So I just picked that one to be our WTF game...
I do to. But the staff will need to keep the players focused to a razors edge. If the offensive line continues to jell and the defense holds it's course, (and they let Smack kick the ball) UF should be competitive in every game. Mertz is doing fantastic. Hope those hands are OK.
