Opinion, but I though it was supposed to be mandatory for throwing punches, whether they landed or not. Both teams had at least one guy throwing punches.
One big loser of the night was Dan Mullen who projected a Gator loss, then at halftime all he could say was it was Tennessee's fault. He offered ZERO praise on the Gator performance. This is pretty sad being he is an ANALYST and the Gator team, even though nearly all his players are gone, still is THE team he should be able to analyze BEST! He was soooo wrong that it almost seems purposeful OR he truly has no idea what championship caliber players and programs look like. Just surprised Dan Mullen isn't being roasted for this and his cush-ESPN job questioned as he obviously can't analyze s**t.
It's purposeful, gonna be quite annoying when every game is on ESPN and he's there spouting his nonsense.
Mullen has a beef with UF and shouldn't be analyzing anything with us. Given how inept we now know he is, maybe he shouldn't be doing any analysis period. But maybe he was confused because he assumed the players we currently have were the same caliber as the ones he recruited.
He did call a pretty good game. But there's 0 reason why the University of Florida shouldn't have an OC. Take Kirby for example. Elite defense everywhere he's been, hires elite coaches there. I think even DM should have hired an OC.
It’s not to say that he has to have his toys taken away, and is relegated to spectator status, but let the strategy and planning stay with one elite person who can stay solely focused on it. Make sure that guy is step in line with your vision and tempo, and be engaged with the strategy meetings, but let him run your offense and then spend your energies trying to make an extra point with consistency.
290 in the first half with a young offense that isn’t loaded with elite players isn’t elite for whoever is in the oc seat? What more do you want. Wait till we are loaded.
Two weeks ago he picked the Gators over Utah and said that we had better talent and coaching. He was blasted for being a homer. I guess he can’t win.
We did the right thing even if Mertz was perfectly healthy. I was just playing devils advocate on if we could see a need to make some safe passes and keep the ball away from Tennessee in the second half. Maybe we should explore a 22 personnel formation for our offense. Lol.
