Tennessee may be overrated, but they still have enough to handily beat us. McNeese was fun, but back to reality this Saturday. Vols 30 Gators 13
After reading through all the picks- it’s telling that there are SOOO many vols picks. I’ve never seen so many. And from reasonable folks too. And the consensus seems to be “we just don’t trust Napier offense consistently “. That’s a LONG way from “be patient, we gotta get some dudes in here” and leans much more to the idea that there is a problem. After watching these discussions the past 15 years/4 coaches… when have the worried bunch been proven wrong? When has a coach surprised us and turned it around? And even if he did go get an OC in the off-season… how many times has THAT worked?
Y'all with different heart and mind picks need to do some work on yourselves. And a gut pick is just another term for pulling it out of your bum hole. Time to turn the corner on Saturday night in the Swamp! 38-17 Gators
UT is supposed to win by about a TD. It'll be no big surprise if they win, and it won't be shocking if they don't. But picking the Vols by 17 is a bit excessive, or so I fervently hope.
My bumhole consultation came back UF 21-13. Milton wilts, Gators win a tough, close game, UT implodes and gives up football. Although I prefer your score, I prefer my little butt nugget to some that are being dropped here.
This brings up a good point. In picks threads, I predict what I expect to happen, not what I want to happen. I picked tennessee because I think they're the stronger team this year. I would LOVE to be wrong, but that's my objective feeling. Do others not pick who they EXPECT to win? I mean, tennessee is a top 10-15 team right now.
That depends who he got as OC. The Muschamp experiment might have worked if Weis stayed... Muschamp was absolutely bad at picking OCs, except Weis
I think it had more to do with meddling and imposing his philosophy on the offense than the OC. IMO Champ was the worst coach in our modern history. The talent he squandered was insane. Mullen was the opposite. Delegated perfectly (maybe too much) but couldn’t hire a competent coach
Where has Weis ever succeeded? Other than at the table either eating or signing a new "coaching" contract. The Patriots offense, his only claim to fame, dramatically improved when he left and was headed by the best QB of all time who coincidentally is known for calling many of his own plays.
I think your assessment is wrong. It’s not that they don’t trust the offense, it’s just that we don’t have all the pieces yet and much of what we have has very little experience playing with each other. We are a young team that just hasn’t had time to gel yet. I will tell you this, from what I have seen so far, I would take Mertz over Milton. I just don’t think Milton is an elite QB the way Tennessee is portrayed him. First road game and it’s in the Swamp! Should be a good one. 27-20 Florida
Of course, we do...usually, anyway. I just disagree with your take on UT being a truly formidable opponent. I believe they're significantly overrated, and we'll see what's up in about 24 hours.
How about the all time series record, 31-21 Florida over Tennessee. It’s the battle over the Big 10 quarterback transfers! Florida owns that transfer record…1-0 (think 2016 LSU!!!). Coincidence? I think not! Lol
