Hijacking the thread by bringing up politics and the election? Seriously? You started the thread. The politics and election were the subject of your original post. Here it is.
. Then again, when people respond with fact based posts, you just resort o insults. No worries. You won’t be receiving responses from me anymore.

Why the need to state that US Attorney Weiss expected her to "rubber stamp" a document? Why wouldn't she just say "okay, these terms aren't clear. Can you go back and revise them and bring them back after doing so?" By commenting that she's not going to "rubber stamp" the document strongly implies she believed that's exactly what US Attorney Weiss expected her to do. Otherwise, the comment would have been unwarranted and inappropriate. Especially being directed at a US attorney.

You were attempting (like you always do) to turn this thread into another what about Trump and so thank you for exiting the thread. Commentary about how this investigation may impact the election are completely appropriate. Getting into a bitchfest about who's potential crimes were worse and potential crimes that have nothing to do with Hunter Biden are off topic. It is a common tactic of left-wing posters here to hijack threads with Trump whataboutisms. Again, thank you for exiting.

Read the very first sentence of the OP. The comparison between Hunter and Trump is the subject of the first paragraph of the post that you started this thread with. If you don’t like the subject of the thread you started, maybe @tilly, @rivergator ot @OklahomaGator can lock it for you. And you can post your comments in a thread with a different subject Than the one you started.

I can see a scenario where Hunter is faced with prison time, Joe resigns to "be with his son" before he reports, Kamala takes over and issues pardon to Hunter.

An even more likely scenario is that Hillary lures Trump to her Pizzagate shop and kills him herself with a ray gun provided by the aliens living amongst us on earth.

You are severely disconnected from reality.

I am not seeing a lot of discussion about the very real possibility that Hunter is going to serve prison time.

To start with, they'd have to find a felony he was guilty of. Not going to happen for misdemeanors or whatever stack of parking tickets Hannity's staff digs up.

How Democrats are actually trying to spin this by admitting Trump can win next year?

I thought "special counsels" were brought in from outside - am I wrong? If correct, this smacks simply of wanting to "run out the clock" on the statute of limitations and allow Hunter Biden to be a footnote to the multiple Trump indictments during the election.

    Shocker:
Well-connected and wealthy people get certain treatment.
Outsiders who threaten the status quo get different treatment.

They don't have to be. Durham wasn't.

Yes you are wrong in thinking that counsel has to be from the outside. I'd also like to know why GOP Senators wrote a letter asking for Weiss last year are now calling the announcement of special counsel status as disgraceful. It's contradictory

They turn on their own when it suits them. Like Epps. Same. If they aren’t loyal to the narrative and stick to the facts, they are RINOs. McCain, Bolton, Barr, Pence, Romney, Cheney, Raffensberger, the former assistant Governor in Georgia, former speaker of the Hoise in Arizona, Kinzinger, the Bushes. The list is long and endless. It’s the Trump party. Weiss is just another one. A Republican and Republican appointed US Attorney kept on the investigation who hasn’t done whatever it is that they want him to do.

Just a wild guess but it could be weiss hadn't yet helped craft the 'hunter'...forever to be known as the best plea deal in the history of deals.

The former president comes immediately to mind. If he were any other defendant with similar charges he would be awaiting trial in a secure institution at government expense. If fact although this guy is well connected and wealthy he didn't receive the special treatment that will be accorded to the defeated former president who is in a class of his own.

Two charges for false statements in connection with the purchase of a firearm (a false statement intended to deceive a dealer with respect to the lawfulness of the transaction, and a false statement with respect to information required by law to be maintained in the records of a firearms licensee) and one count for the substantive charge of being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm.

Not sure what actual sentences for those look like in practice (federal criminal law is definitely not my bailiwick, if someone on here is more familiar with calculating federal guideline sentences or the sentencing statistics for those crimes they’re welcome to weigh in).

But all three are felonies. The first is a 10 year max, the second is a 5 year max, and the third is a 15 year max.
