Let's face it ET, the entire facade of College football is built on media money and the whims of those that control it. Essentially every game is a championship and everyone bases everything on the last game. Heck, the way it's going, the last quarter, possession or even play. We posted all summer about this being a difficult season. So when UF, unranked, loses to 12th ranked Utah On their home field (where they RARELY LOSE) NAPIER is suddenly a sap and UF stinks. Sometimes I wonder if the games even matter anymore, only the media frenzy matters and all those "in it" get talking points, likes and ratings. It makes me want to puke. I actually enjoy the sport and not all the BS that surrounds and dilutes it. It looks like Napier is already on the tight rope. It pisses me off the haters are already trying to run off the recruiting class this cycle and get Napier fired.
And here you go: FINEBAUM Finebaum named the SEC's Florida Gators as a good fit for Sanders if he decides to jump ship in Colorado. “You’ve got a brand new president there in former Sen. Ben Sasse who is a forward-thinking guy who would look at Deion [Sanders] and go, ‘I like this.’ I think he could consider this the ticket,” Finebaum said on The Audible with Stew & Bruce, via On3 Sports. “It is considered as one of the premier public universities in the country. They just finished No. 1 in a poll and I think Deion fits their make up very well. Guess he already has Napier as a fired failure.
I've never understood the fan that is constantly critical. They seem excited to report the warts and are unrelenting in proving these warts cannot be fixed. How can you love something so much that you want to bash it over the head every day, all day? I've wondered if these fans are equally critical of their spouse, kids, friends, relatives, job, etc...? Do they only see the flaws and spend their entire day calling out those flaws? Is their kid the one who has a nervous tick by the 5th grade because dad/mom has pushed so hard? Is their spouse the one hitting the sauce at 3p? Are they the one who is a cancer in the workplace and gets fired every two years? I love my Gators. I see the flaws like everyone else but I have a hard time being critical about something that I have no control over. And for some reason the bitching is contagious and overpowers those of us who are trying to enjoy the journey. I'm fascinated by the X's and O's. I enjoy hearing different perspectives but some on here are constantly parroting GatorNationFBPodcast to validate their distain for Napier. If this guy was so smart, he'd be making millions as a coach. It's just one guy's opinion. @ETGator - love the stats from the professor. Keep em comin!
Hey, I will admit it, I'm a pissed off American, over many things, but UF football is not one of them. UF football is one of the few "relief" mechanisims I have to cope with every day life. I readily admit having posted unhappiness with all of the changes, simply because I believe we had a great product and others are working hard to dilute it and turn it into a profit center, traditions and popularity be damned. I also believe that coach Napier is a CLASS ACT, deserving of patience and respect. Ya'll can have all of that "mouth" Dion you want, in the end he will self destruct with his yapper. He's doing it already.
“We should live in the data and not in our dreams”? You actually posted something as corny as that? LMAO I’m led to believe you have neither majored in, nor pursued a career working with statistics, engineering, or any other path that involves actually studying and analyzing data of any significance. Drama, on the other hand…..
Shows UcheaT's approach against Austin Peay. Couldn't go endzone-to-endzone so apparently went side-to-side:
…no offense but did you even look at the data that you posted? It’s exactly the same data I’m quoting. Your PhD had us at a negative EPA per play vs Utah. And just FYI your PhD isn’t producing these stats. They are publicly available. He’s just curating and packaging it. Its presented nice
I’ve managed billions via quantitative equity. So yeah. I rely on statistically significant data The difference is I’m quoting what happened and you are talking about what you hope will happen. I forecast the future based on the data that I have. You forecast the future based on what you hope happens. That’s fine but just know you are just a fan and not any sort of analyst, gambler, forecaster or anything related.
Then why are you so inclined to only consider data that fits your opinion? Is that how you manage these “billions” too?
Yes, thanks, I did. However, I'm not stuck in the past concentrating on the first bad game. I take into account what happened in the second game too, and what will happen Saturday, and also the weeks after that. It's one reason I began this thread . . . so we can all watch the kids grow up together and hopefully, those bad, bad numbers from the Utah game steadily improve.
“It is considered as one of the premier public universities in the country. They just finished No. 1 in a poll and I think Deion fits their make up very well”. Huh?
I saw an inaccurate Milton in that game. Very interested to see if he steps up his game in the Swamp or has problems handling the big stage and hopefully our pressure and press coverage. A Peay threw tons of screens. Their QB did a half decent Tebow impression and ran tough.
This guy is widely respected too . . . followed by Coach Napier: So by the numbers Florida is a definite underdog but it just doesn't feel that way to me.
The whole image for those ho have trouble with Twitter: I just don't see UcheaT putting up 36 points in The Swamp Saturday night.
It's the Finebaums and ESPNs that are to blame for some of the comments by supposed Gator fans. Finebaum is fomenting dissent, and he's blaming it on the fans... clown. I love the job Napier is doing and yes, I think we could have won more games last year, but we didn't. That's over... we have a new QB1 and a new DC to help us in the quest to get back on top. It will happen... just not overnight, and real Gator fans know this will take some time. I am psyched to see how well our very young talent does in The Swamp on Saturday night. We have some very explosive players that have not even shown us all the plays we have in the playbook. I look forward to the journey too... stop with the instant success crap, because even with the NIL and the Transfer Portal it takes time to recruit the real team behind all the band-aid players that decide to transfer to and from teams. I still believe that the best way to build a solid team is to build it from the ground up. That means recruiting and watching the young freshman grow into the players they will become. That IS going to be fun to see. Sure the Portal and the NIL will add to the team, but it will never completely replace recruiting from the ground up. Napier is doing it the right way. Sorry, there are no short cuts to building a sustainable football program, even with the NIL and the Portal. So sit back and enjoy the ride... the journey.
