I mailed a survey to all of them, and it cost me a small fortune in postage. Not a single one responded.

The flu shot is where my willingness to vaccinate ends. It's a matter of simple statistics there, not any fear of a jab. Typically there are 20-25 different global flu variants annually and the vaccine is usually only loaded to handle the top 3-5 of them in a given area. Meaning the effectivity of the jab is just not good enough to justify taking it in my mind.

By comparison, when the Covid vaccines started there were only a couple variants and therefore the effectivity was much higher and much more "worth it" to me. As things have gone on, there are now many more variants so it's a diminishing return.

Now lets see if you are able to analyze what is going on here. The first quote from the good doctor tells us a lot...

"What we are seeing is an increase in number of people diagnosed with COVID when they come to the emergency room," said Dr. Kleper De Almeida

Now they want you to believe that people are being hospitalized for covid. They are not. They are just coming to the hospital with covid. As Dr. Fraiman said...he has not admitted one person to the hospital for covid since Feb 2022. But he has admitted a lot of people with covid.

While I do not take the flu shot either. At least it does not have a known side effect causing millions to call in sick to work. Not anymore as the working age population by in large is not taking the shot. Well hardly anyone is now. They could not even get over 50% of those 65 and older to take the booster.

I'd argue against that anecdotally. Every time I did take the flu shot as a kid, I ended up with the flu. 100% of the time. Since I stopped taking it about 25-30 years ago, I've gotten it exactly once.

That gets to the crappy efficacy. Which the covid shot is worse there lol.

Covid shot you get Covid and the potential of calling in sick just for taking the shot…

Maybe I lucked out on that one then. 1st shot had no noticeable side effect, 2nd one caused me to have arm pain at the site which a couple Tylenol fixed. I've taken two boosters (don't plan on any additional ones) and neither of them have had any side effects. If I've had Covid, I wouldn't know it from a cold.

And in full disclosure, the deciding factor I took any of the Covid shots was my ex-wife is a recovering leukemia survivor so I did it out of an abundance of caution.

Each to their own. I plan to get both the Covid booster, and the annual flu shot.

I will get the annual flu shot next week at our company health fair. I have not decided on the COVID booster yet.

Man, if people spent the same amount of time and money living a healthy lifestyle as they do on COVID crap we wouldn't even be having a discussion as healthy people don't care about 99.9% of illnesses. But I guess that's dreaming at this point.

Just got back from home Depot, I'd wager 80% of the people I saw fall into a high risk category just judging from their shape and seemingly low levels of fitness.

I don’t know about ponderously fat people. But chubby people live longer than skinny people so. And I’m skinny.

Wouldn’t it be nice to imagine that we are not disease vectors and that we could safely mix with our ‘immunocompromised’ loved ones ?

Hey, I constantly tell my doctor that I'm in shape. Round is a shape.

You’re talking to *former* fitness trainer here. Body shape is more heritable than any other attribute save height. Certain categories of what we consider fat live the longest. And while it’s true that the outer extremities of the morbidly obese have increased, one possible explanation is chronic dieting.

Yeah, my problem is part genetic, part age and part portion control (I eat too much too fast). In my defense I do exercise 3-4 times a week (hockey, bowling, cardio work) and shy away from the fast food and sweets. Still can't seem to get my weight down to where I want it, but everything else (pulse, cholesterol, etc) is in line with where it should be.

Offhand I’d guess you’re good. Weight rebound is a fact because the body defends its weight and does so in vicious nd sometimes punitive fashion.
