Are Gator fans obligated to root for former players?

 

Can you name another former player Gator fans didn’t wholeheartedly support in the NFL?

 

Yes u can .. lot of Gainvillians are of your mind set . Nothing wrong with that . I was a season tix guy when I lived in Middleburg/ Orange Park

To root for every player every week not so much. Root for your TEAM if you have one and against your opponent weekly.

Everything else is a personal preference. Despite the admonishments from resident publicists

There is absolutely zero “general dislike” here for AR. Y’all need to let go of this red herring. Shane you’re plenty knowledgeable enough to understand why some of us were not enamored with his performance over the course of last season. It’s over. Turn the page….

Now what I’m struggling with is why so many people got the hate on for our present QB after only 2 games in which he actually did pretty well. And oddly enough, it seems like it’s coming from the same people who so passionately support AR’s performance last year. I smell a lot of hypocrisy here

It’s not clear to me. Are you claiming it’s his race? Just be blunt about it instead of tip-toeing around it. If so, why would these people use that as a reason to “dislike” a QB, but be ok with every other person on the team? It’s an ignorant take
