    But he didn't have a 2nd int.

A struggling line contributed to the fumble. Of course Trevor isn't 100 percent absolved but it's not like he held on to the ball too long.

And, yes, fluke TD. Bigsby made a rookie mistake, which allowed Buckner to score a TD. Heads up play by the Colts but it was a fluke.

But, please, keep pushing that AR is better than Lawrence.

If he's gonna mix it up with defenders like a running back he'll get messed up. There's a reason so few do it and last.

Who? I never spoken to any fellow Gator fan that says anything close or seen a post that says something like that. Maybe I missed it.

Everyone has injuries that ain’t the Jags problem, we have enough issues.

    He may have
Been the best athlete on the field but not near the best QB on the field

It's the narrative from a few here who think any constructive criticism is "hate." I think there are likely some people out there who it may be true for but the sentiments here have overwhelmingly been constructive and analytical I'm nature. Nothing wrong with thinking he would have a hard time in the NFL given his struggles with accuracy, mental toughness and consistency in college given how difficult the NFL is. I mean if the excuse is that he was inexperienced then cutting your teeth at the position in the NFL is a pretty daunting task. Some here want to bash the coaching he received which is funny considering Mullen's reputation and that Mertz somehow manages to pass with a high completion rate despite not being the run threat that AR was. He was still getting coaching even when he wasn't starting. Just look at Trask.

I'm just guessing the worst thing for AR'S career as a Gator was his personal QB coach/handlers. Well, that and the train wreck that Mullens last year was. I wish he had stayed to see if he could have improved his short to medium game because with the additions of Wilson and others along with what appears to be a much better defense we could have really been playing for something significant this year.

Most people I see here want him to succeed but needed to see some mental and physical toughness along with some improved accuracy to believe he could. He totally outperformed expectations today. Hope it continues for him.

Call another poster a dumbass...kind of a dickwad thing to do

All this shows is that Juju is the bigger man for saying he's accepting an apology from a dirty player

Nobody is saying that AR is better than Lawrence at this point.

I mean if you look at Trevor's first NFL start he had 3 TD's (to go along with 3 int's) in a 16 point loss to the Texans. The same Texans that went 4-13 that year.

I guess if you are thin-skinned.

A comparison was made based on stat line with no further context. I responded to that comparison. Sorry if that bothers you.

I don't know what relevance Trevor's rookie year has to this discussion. I'm not trashing Richardson's performance today.

Agree with a lot of that, well said. I don’t know one Gator that wants him to fail. Noles, ‘Canes and others probably do, but not Gators.

Maybe not rooting for him to fail but there is a contingent of fans who are rather “meh” about his post-UF exploits because in their own words, they feel like he didn’t live up to their expectations at UF. A far cry from how engaged they were with Tebows pro career and Kyle Trask’s current pro journey.

Anyway AR had a great debut. Made some great plays and made some rookie mistakes, as expected. Has a lot to work on but you can see why he’s was a 1st round draft pick.

Great post, but at the same time if I was offered that kind of money I would have left early no matter what my numerous fans on the Gator Mathematics Message Board would say.

Disagree with the first paragraph- never read anything like that from any Gator fan. Agree with the second paragraph.

It’s been said numerous times by several different posters in the past few months. A few posters in here can probably verify.

I agree, but if he was that would be more of a statement about Lawrence as a 3 year starter falling behind someone playing in their first NFL game.

Trevor is a rising star with, hopefully, a great career in front of him.

I just want the same for AR and look forward to them having a good rivalry for years to come.

AR will have a very productive NFL career. If this is how he looked his first ever NFL game, imagine how good he will be in 3 or 4 years.

Maybe I'm just confused, the only stat line I saw was comparing AR and Bryce Young in their first starts today.

And I appreciate that you are not trashing AR's performance today. I am just upset about a fellow Gator getting injured in his first NFL game by a player that is, at best, "wreckless"? in his tackling technique.
