I’m streaming with Sling, Orange and Blue package plus the sports bundle. Been very happy! Dumped Spectrum TV last week but still have the internet.
Six months into YTTV sub, no sports issues whatsoever. It unlocks everything on ESPN+ as well (non-PPV). Just got a notice that ESPN+ annual price is going up 30 percent or so. Good grief. F-Disney.
The new YouTube TV split screen technology was outstanding yesterday. It makes keeping up with multiple games a snap. It has various combinations up to 4 games to choose from too. 1. Have had YouTube TV for quite a while now. It doesn't unlock ESPN+ for me. I have to pay separately for that which I refuse to do except for 1 month to watch the NCAA gymnastics regionals. 2. Disney has raised the prices significantly for ESPN+, Hulu, and Disney+. They are hemorrhaging customers and losing money so trying to make streaming profitable. I think they are going to lose more customers. 3. Hopefully by this time next year Disney will partner with someone or sell off the ESPN channels so we will be able to subscribe to stand alone sports streaming which will have all of the ESPN related channels. I've been seeing $20 to $25 monthly as a projected price, but someone else said it may be as high as $30 monthly.
I watched on You Tube TV but I'm noticing you can watch on regular You Tube, but it's a bit of hit and miss, still it's better than nothing.
I BELIEVE that YouTube TV allows up to six different family members to use their service. But ONLY if those family members live in the same city or county. For example, I am one of the six family members but the primary subscriber lives out in Utah. When I tried to start up the game last night, YouTube TV was asking me if I was, "...traveling outside my area?" I was never able to start the game and had to go to a sports bar to watch the game. Geeeez!!
Count on it. And $30 is just the beginning. The Disney cash cow has been gored. ESPN and streaming platforms will now be squeezed pretty hard
I'm going to try out Sling for a month or two since I can cancel at anytime. I might just get YouTube TV too.
Yes, but there are adjustments I can make to compensate. 1. Subscribe to Philo TV at $25. 2. Cancel YouTube TV at $81 & change. 3. Cancel frndly TV which I enjoy for a super skinny service. I like supporting good people. Bottom line, I'd make out like a champ with ESPN streaming and Philo TV plus still have all of the channels we actually watch, lone exceptions being TBS, TNT, and True which I only watch the first week of the NCAA basketball tourney. Of course, I'd have to use an antenna for locals which I hardly ever watch anymore.
You shouldn't need both. YoutubeTV has pretty much everything you need, esp. in terms of sports. I have tried Hulu & YoutubeTV. Both are fine, but I like YoutubeTV a little better. Haven't tried Sling. Nice thing about the streaming services is that you can add/drop 'em any time. We dropped the service after the ncaa basketball tourney and used a digital antennae throughout the summer. Gets about 300 channels for free (including locals) and we save a few hundred bucks not paying for streaming service, which we pick back up on the first day of college football.
What's the site one can use to choose the best streaming service? I know it's been shared here several times, but can't remember what it's called.
Did the YouTubeTV last Thursday for the Utah game. Signed up, put in credit card and logged in. Or so I thought. Commercials were muted. Then early in the second quarter, I’m watching some kid play NBA 2K. My wife says, I don’t think you’ve got the right YouTube…
Just watched the morning NFL games on YouTube out west here. And they absolutely suck compared to DirecTV. They said I would be able to get 4 games on each TV but they only offered one package of games they chose. Then, by halftime, two of the games changed on me. Lousy group of people to entrust with the NFL. Plus, now in the afternoon here, there are 5 games on and they don't offer another 4-game package to see at least another 4.
Thanks - there's an interactive site one can use where they plugin the channels they prefer and it will make streaming recs based upon preference. Somebody knows what it's called. It was linked here again recently.
