This is a game where we had not much to gain but everything to lose. But we did exactly what was needed, got experience, and are moving into next week. Next week is the key to see if the coaching is moving in the right direction. But it was great to get some of the stink of game 1 off of us
You jest but sadly, it seems as some of the negative media pieces use content from TOS forums that are loaded with complaints like this. I'm in the camp that doesn't take much from this game because of the physical advantage at every position however the game was clean and the offense and defense did their jobs which is has not been the case in recent years so I'll take it. The other boards are rife with garbage however.
I have not checked tos but UF was relentless and was only stopped with the 2nd and third team units. I don't understand how anyone could criticize the offensive effort. Special teams? MAYBE a little.
And UF will bring theirs. Billy and UF are going to break out and whip these guys. We have a defense again!
Hard to really take anything away from this one. Nice opportunity for younger guys to get some in-game experience but totally overmatched opponent.
Honestly, it was just nice to see the guys win a game handily that they were expected to. Been a while, as I can remember at least, that we've had a game that was never in doubt from KO. No big mental mistakes. Was good to see the secondary play well as a unit. I was excited. Always celebrate a win.
I'm not buying the critics: "Well it was McNeese" - Sorry, UF did EXACTLY what they should do, they jumped on them, beat them down and blew them away. Next up, Toothless in Gainesville - Hey UT, currently on a 0 - 9 streak in Hog Town, UF will be making that TEN.
Looked to me that he had the ball pinned to his body with one hand while on the ground. That’s down with possession, should have been a dead ball at that point and not a turnover!
I may have missed earlier comments (I haven't read every post) but the SWAMP looked nice and the new scoreboard is great!
McNeese was playing 3 safety’s 15 yards off the ball. Deep ball wasn’t there most of the game. They paid for it on the ground.
Wonder what the Gator’s record would be today had the first game been @ home vs McNeese then the second on the road @ Utah.
No, we were into proving we were better than what we showed last week, hopefully smarter. I feel better on our chances next week, we will have to earn it! Go Gators! Keep getting better…
I’ve never even heard of Tarleton State before today. Not sure I’m liking this alternative timeline I find myself in currently.
