He participated in a long form interview on the All in podcast. I have to say I think he is by far the most substantive candidate on the important issues - he would be my current pick out of both parties.

He pretty much destroyed the resident anti Ukraine Desantis lackey co host on the podcast (David Sax)

It’s probably just a shock to hear someone that isn’t 100% buffoon 100% of the time. I’m sure Nikki Haley and several other candidates actually do have a grasp on the issues. Most of them aren’t total morons, unfortunately they have to do a song and dance - playing to a base who adore the dumbest guy in the room. Christie isn’t going to win many points being frank with those people.

He is probably using the campaign as a ruse to embezzle campaign funds to pay for his poor eating habits. I wonder if he’ll break that 1 percent barrier this go around.

this person has a better chance of being the Republican nominee over Christie.

DeSantis is pro-Ukraine, and Christie is an embarrassment, not to mention a big fat liar. Christie will be out of politics soon.

Christie and Haley are both uniparty (R) candidates. I can’t really tell much of a differences between them when considering their basic foundational beliefs. What generally irks me is this whole “deficit / entitlements” boogie man stuff.

Looming debt rate float to higher rates
    Christie:
    —> cut education funding o_O.
    —> no tax increase
—> no cut to military :ninja:
    —> raise social security age (-50) :(
    —> cut entitlements
—> send more weapons to Ukraine

Can’t make it up. What does this stuff say to younger people and independents?

We all know the Republican Party has been usurped by the base MAGA. That is why DeSantis and Ramaswamy have a higher chance of rising from the ashes of a Trump conviction.

It is why I don’t see a functioning GOP coming from the ashes of Donald Trump. For many MAGA, let it rot and die.

Not at all, but I don't want billions (113 at this date with 46 billion to nondefense aid) going to the most corrupt country on the planet. We are funding their government. The war could end tomorrow if we would simply not allow Ukraine into NATO. Russia can't let Ukraine into NATO. They don't want our nukes so close that we could end them before they could hit their button. Putin is a bad, evil bully man, but he is not dumb. It's self-preservation.

Imagine if Mexico or Canada joined BRICS. What would we do if the BRICS nations decided to put nukes 100 miles from our border?

Would you prefer money goes to citizens of Hawaii or Ukrainian officials? A dedicated web page for disaster response, FEMA lists the total assistance approved so far as $3.17 million, of which $1.42 million is "individual and households program" assistance. A further $1.76 million is "other needs assistance." It states that 1,567 applications for individual assistance have been approved. That's a paltry $700 per resident that lost their home. Thanks Joe!

I'll ask another question. How is it that Ukraine citizens are partying, going about their daily business and and partaking in sporting events? Are they not at war?

That warmonger, self-centered Uni-Party politician was no servant. He pretended to have integrity, but he didn't.

I think McCain was a good and descent man that I could disagree with on policy. Saying he didn’t have integrity is really the opposite of what he did in life. He had many great moments, including his military service. He did stick to moral principles and rejected the wave of populism.

    integrity

We know for a fact Trump doesn’t have integrity. Also funny you mention Christie as a liar when Trump is the biggest liar/grifter on the planet, lol. Baffling.

We are devastating an adversary's economy and military without spilling a drop of American blood. We are also helping to protect a fledgling democracy and stopping Putin's ability to expand beyond his borders.

    Money well spent.

The deficit entitlements thing is one of the main reasons I’d like a guy like Christie. We are coming in with around a 2 trillion deficit this year when the economy is good. That’s 8 percent of gdp. That is not sustainable.

why does it only come up when they are out of power. While in power they blow it over and over again. What is he going to do? Trying to reduce the deficit without a 30 year plan that is owned by both parties is meaningless. Have to cut spending and raise taxes on a 30 year time horizon. It’s not that hard of a formula, but Christie doesn’t have the political clout with the Dems to do it.
