Been saying it all off-season ever since I saw Milton close last season. He is no Hooker. There's a reason he lost the job last year. Tenn is very beatable if Florida does what it needs to do and plays a clean game.
Offense scored more than I thought. Backs looked good. OL made some holes for the backs and kept Mertz on his feet. Glad to see fewer procedural calls. Still seems to take way too long to get plays in. And it is a baton (you could be excused for calling it a mace). It is not called a scepter.
Sorry ET it’s was a win. A high snap is still a ST error. I read it was blocked, my error didn’t see that part, next time I’ll verify. The question was about ST errors. But let’s be fair McNeese is a bad team in FCS. Is this where we have sunk to? So we need to be over the top about beating a team like that? Wow
Sorry I missed it and read it was blocked. My error. Not being negative. Was answering a question someone asked. Still a ST mistake which is what was being asked. Amazing how beating a team most of us would poke fun at other teams for playing has some all warm and fuzzy. The lack of objectivity is puzzling. It was a good dominating win, and many back ups got to play good for the kids.
Yes. This is where we are. Happy to beat a team soundly, that we should. I know it sucks …but we’ll tough it out.
Overmatched opponent so you have to take into consideration. That said I like that outside of special teams we played pretty clean football. QB-WR timing looked to be improved. Goofy ass penalties were nonexistent. And we decided that we needed to lean on our strength (RB). I thought the defense played sound assignment football against Utah and they did again tonight.
There is literally zero we can glean from this game as McNeese is so far below any of our remaining schedule, we might as well have just watched a flag football game. If you need this game to make you feel better about the team, that's a bad sign.
A good win for the team. The bad news was we had to listen to Beth Mowins do the play by play. She called Montrell, Montrell Jackson Jr.
I am cheered to see far fewer arm tackles this season. A pet peeve. So so many last few seasons. Eager to see what the running game will do against Tenn. We'll know something concrete after that hoedown.
Fun game to be at. The lighting after scores is a nice touch. Way overmatched team and they were handled like they should have been. McNeese were playing a 3 safety look all game which is why we gashed them on the ground and we didn’t see many deep throws. They didn’t want to give up the big play. TN can reset the season for this team. Can’t wait!!! Go Gators!!!
Regardless of opponent there is not much that makes me happier about performance of players than to see our 3rd string NT wreak havoc in the backfield two weeks in a row. To have someone that quick and explosive off the line as a 3rd option is amazing.
Perhaps he should get some of Dez’s reps? I just don’t see Dez disrupting that much for being such a huge guy.
This game was a perfect example of the value of “cupcake” games. Gave us a chance to correct some issues on the field against someone other than ourselves. Also a lot of players got into the game, including our backup QB’s. Speaking of which, did I miss something with Jack Miller? Is he still with us? Should give us some confidence heading into conference play. They are all big games going forward. I wish the Charlotte game was farther down the schedule.
I expected the Gators to dominate offensively, but what I was really looking for was our 3rd down defense. Yeah it was McNeese, but the guys made the necessary plays. Was happy to see that. Excited to see how all this carries over to the Tennessee game. Napier has to remain committed to the run game. It’s obviously our biggest strength. Oh, and Wilson is a star in the making.
