Lot of young talent. Really happy to see the work the offense put in running the ball. Defense is young and talented but they might make some big mistakes next week. If the running game is for real against talent this team has a chance to be good.
No turnovers, very few sacks or TFLs but just nowhere to run, no open receivers, no where to go. Gator defenders just swarmed to the ball. Don't remember this many freshman defenders making so many big plays, Castell, Jackson, Thorton, Searcy, Norman, Lyons.
I don’t know who needed this one more, the players, the fans or the recruits? Florida did what needed to do. To be nit picky, it would’ve been nice to see more chunk plays and playmakers in space. Could’ve also done without shanked punts and botched snap on PAT.
Overall, a nice win. The best thing is that we scored enough points to get plenty of scrubs in the game. Three QBs played! Max Brown should have had some runs, either designed or run-pass option. But still, a real decent win. On to the tough part of the schedule.
I don't know that we return punts anymore...honestly. I think we have zero return yards despite prob 10-15 punts the first 2 games.
Yeah, so mcneese was overmatched. That said, the Gators took care of business. Execution. A good win for a young team. Beat the vols!
I know it has only been two games, but I think Mertz is an upgrade at the QB position over AR. Obviously AR had freakish athleticism that flashed in most games, but Mertz seems to make good reads and nice throws. If our OL can protect him, I think we'll have a better offense than last year. And coach Ham (GNFP nickname for Austin...the "Great Hambino" from Sandlot) has the D looking completely different than last years train wreck. I'm impressed. And the D owes our 4th string tailback an @sswhooping for fumbling on our 5 with 2 min left in a shutout. ST is the primary black eye on this team, and it needs to be fixed...yesterday.
Great win. They're gonna need to dig deep next week. They can do it but it won't be easy, that's for sure. I finally got to see my boy Bordingham. I only saw one play. He caught a pass and bulldozed over a couple players for a first down. Woo-hoo. Go Gators.
Battle’s fumble and “blown” shutout were cosmetic and not really important in the scope of things. In a way, it’s kind of back to the future scenario for Gator football in that the UT game really becomes the gateway game to a good season.
