    Tragic. Many prayers and donations for those impacted. They are saying it is more than 1000 people now. Predominantly Berbers live in the region that was hit hardest I think.

    Morocco is an incredibly beautiful country. The food, the culture, the scenery is amazing.

    Amen to all. Morocco and Moroccan culture holds a special bond with my ancestral homeland (on one side) of Andalucia. Wonderful land and people. So sad to think of their suffering

    At least 2,012 people died in the quake, mostly in Marrakech and five provinces near the epicenter, Morocco’s Interior Ministry reported Saturday night. At least 2,059 more people were injured — 1,404 critically — the ministry said.

    Was in Morocco in June, the walls of the old city date back to the 12th century and have been damaged by this earthquake. Very sad to see.

    I have a customer who lives in Tennessee but is from Morocco. I texted him the morning after just to make sure his family was OK. He wrote back saying that he was in Morocco during the earthquake and that even though his mother’s home is 200 miles from the epicenter, it was still quite scary.

    He said his ancestral home is from near the earthquake epicenter. He was still gathering information on his distant relatives there.
