I don’t think Trump will be the nominee.

Have you been watching the polls? Trump is like Secretariat and DeSantis is like Francis the Talking Mule.

Shuffling Biden will give way to Kamala to finish the term soon and then Big Mike will run for Pres with Cali Boy as the VP.

For some reason I'm drawing a blank. Who is Big Mike?

I know what the current polls say, but I don’t think Trump can win, and I don’t think Trump is stupid. I’m pretty sure he knows he’s not going to win because his negatives are so high. I don’t think he is going to stay in the race. It may be one of the criminal cases against him that forces him out, or it may be he’s just fed up. My gut is telling me he will drop out of the race before the end of this year.

keep in mind, with his endorsement, he can pretty much select the nominee.

Once again just my opinion the only way that Trump will not be the nominee would be in the extremely unlikely case in which he agrees to withdraw in exchange for a blanket plea agreement (actually multiple plea agreements with the same condition) under which he pleads guilty and agrees to withdraw from politics in exchange for probation. Alternatively there is also the possibility that he could develop some type of medical condition that renders him physically or mentally incapable of running. If neither of those contingencies should occur and although either is possible they are also rather remote Donald Trump will be the Republican nominee. While polls may be inaccurate at the margins Trump's lead is so large that he is a virtual lock for the nomination. Republican primary voters will not abandon their Dear Leader. The majority of them actually believe that he won the 2020 election and that it was stolen from him through fraud and evidence to the contrary that he is being prosecuted by a weaponized government only because he is running for the presidency.

Biden vs. Trump ... a sad state of affairs. Republicans have alternatives of varying degrees. How did the Democrats end up with none?

Why do you think that? Unless the RNC quickly fixes winner take all primaries to proportionate delegates, it’s an incredible hurdle. Literally all the other candidates need to quickly coalesce around a single challenger.

You've got it all wrong. Trump can win, and he's very stupid.

They're stuck with an incumbent who doesn't understand he's not wanted. What can they do with him?

They guy would have to have a normal ego for that to happen. It's not happening for the same reason he is in the situation he's in now. He can't lose anything.

I don’t want Trump as a candidate and I don’t think he will be the nominee. I also don’t think it will be Desantis.
If trump is not the nominee Biden is a losing ticket.

Trump may not be stupid, but he's a narcissistic megalomaniac. Losing is insufferable to him, and he refuses to believe it's possible he can even ever lose. He is not the kind of guy who will voluntarily step away and not run for POTUS.

Here's what I can envision happening. The last poll I saw, Trump was leading Biden 46% to 45%. (And it was like only yesterday people were saying Trump can't win.) If Trump gets indicted again, he should then lead by 5% or 10%. If they can indict Trump twice more (or convict him in any one trial), Biden might as well go ahead and concede. Why bother with an election? Just deliver the republic to Mar-a-Lago (or the Fulton County jail or wherever) on a platter like the head of John the Baptist.

Yeah, it's true genius that got him impeached twice and indicted four times so far. You can't get more brilliant than that.

Exactly. If anyone wants to know why Trump behaves like he does the link below says it all.

so in your world someone becomes stupid by a 3rd party charging you with misconduct, and even in your example 2x (impeachment) he was found to have not committed the offense charged. He is batting 1000 so far.

That’s the world you live in?
