Sorry Clay, the poor execution in even the simplest part of the game for the last year would get called out by anyone with an ounce of football IQ. Kids watch the games too they aren’t on message boards looking at fan posts near as much as you suggest, they are watching games and highlights, and when those highlights show continued ineptitude they aren’t gonna play that.

As far as SOS it wasn’t the fans. It was more of Foley not stepping up and his desire to try the NFL(something he said he always wanted to do).

If you watch the netflix special Meyer doesn’t blame the fans at all it was his internal drive to keep winning.

Why can’t you? Mullen was not focused on recruiting- which is clearly documented. Napier is and he appears to have a much better organization which I believe will pay dividends. Mullen also wanted to jump to the NFL and seemed to have one foot out the door. I think it is completely reasonable to assess the circumstances and make decisions accordingly.

 

Maybe. If we didn’t fire Mullen, are we worse the next year and fall further behind in recruiting? Also something to consider.

Right now Napier does have fatal flaws. His offense being one, and surprisingly the total lack of detail and preparedness. He can preach it all day and hire as many analysts as he wants, but there is no denying it. Just like Dan he will get another offseason to correct it, but I don’t think he will survive if he mirrors Dans ego.

I dunno if I’d call the portal a bust just yet. We have a ton playing this year tgat came from the portal and you can only consider one game. There’s a good percentage of our snaps being taken Fromm portal guys.
