Since Biden was a private citizen when all this stuff was happening, I guess we can blame anyone. I've decided it's your fault Rick.....please justify why you shut down everything, forced people to get jabbed, killed millions of jobs. Please explain yourself
When people believe unhinged shit like this there really is no point in trying to discuss anything with them. I mean, how did we get to this point?
In Rick’s defense, he’s been at this point for years and years. The MAGA nuts finally caught up to him.
I just posted an article in the MAGA cult thread. It makes a pretty compelling case that MAGA and its members really are a cult. It’s the only thing I can think of that would explain why people would have such preposterous beliefs.
It's gotten really bad. The crazy echo chamber they exist in is doing a lot of harm to them and to our country.
I thought this would have already been covered but I don't see it. The Wisconsin legislature is gerrymandered and Republicans have super majorities despite never getting much more than slightly over 50% of the vote in most statewide results, now being in the minority the most recent statewide elections, Ron Johnson excluded. They lost by big margins in the state Supreme Court in which the issues were abortion and gerrymandering. They've openly stated that they can't lose their gerrymander. So now they're trying to impeach the newly elected state Supreme Court justice before she ever casts a vote, purportedly because she refuses to recuse. That would seem to be a futile gesture as the Governor would appoint her replacement. But they intend to impeach her and suspend her without trying to actually removing her, leaving the Court deadlocked. Modern Republicans hate democracy. They cling to minority rule Under the Wisconsin Constitution it takes only a simple majority of the vote in the GOP-controlled State Assembly to impeach a justice (or any judge) “for corrupt conduct in office, or for crimes and misdemeanors.” This has happened only once before, in 1853 (the judge was acquitted). But there is no allegation that Protasiewicz has engaged in any corrupt conduct (she took office only last month), and there are no crimes or misdemeanors. The GOP’s pretext is her refusal to recuse herself from a case challenging the state’s legislative gerrymandering. Protasiewicz has said that the current lines are “rigged,” and Republicans have accused her of prejudging the case. In an election that set records for turnout, voters seemed less concerned, electing her to a 10-year term by a margin of 11 points and more than 200,000 votes. On the surface, the whole thing seems both petty and pointless: If Protasiewicz is convicted by a two-thirds vote of the Wisconsin Senate and removed, Democratic Governor Tony Evers can immediately appoint another progressive justice to take her place. There is no Senate confirmation. But here we get to the wrinkle that one law professor called “diabolical.” Under the Wisconsin Constitution, after the Assembly vote, the justice would be immediately suspended. “No judicial officer shall exercise his office, after he shall have been impeached, until his acquittal.” But — and here’s the rub — the state’s Senate GOP has no intention of holding any trial, or taking any vote on the impeachment. There will be no conviction. Or acquittal. As a result, Protasiewicz would be in a sort of permanent limbo. The court, which is already thoroughly dysfunctional, would be deadlocked 3-3. “This is actually a more potent tool to dismantle the liberal majority by having an impeachment vote in the Assembly, which is just a majority vote, and then having the Senate do nothing. She basically is removed from office and can’t rule on any cases,” said David Canon, a political science professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The WI GOP’s Doomsday Plan for 2024
They cover that later in the piece. That may be what happens. As the piece mentions, that would mean another election in the spring with the same issues at play that resulted in 11 point win for the Democrats

Okay, I feel stupid. I figured it had to have been covered. I just looked at the wrong thread. My bad
They should have impeached. Court takes a hammer to the illegal voting precincts. Wisconsin Supreme Court Orders New Legislative Maps In Redistricting Case Brought By Democrats MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The liberal-controlled Wisconsin Supreme Court overturned Republican-drawn legislative maps on Friday and ordered that new district boundary lines be drawn as Democrats had urged in a redistricting case they hope will weaken GOP majorities. The ruling comes less than a year before the 2024 election in a battleground state where four of the six past presidential elections have been decided by fewer than 23,000 votes, and Republicans have built large majorities in the Legislature under maps they drew over a decade ago. The court ruled 4-3 in favor of Democrats who argued that the legislative maps are unconstitutional because districts drawn aren’t contiguous. They also argued that the Supreme Court violated the separation of powers doctrine. “Because the current state legislative districts contain separate, detached territory and therefore violate the constitution’s contiguity requirements, we enjoin the Wisconsin Elections Commission from using the current legislative maps in future elections,” Justice Jill Karofksy wrote for the majority.
In recent elections, the GOP has won only 46% of the vote but the gerrymandering has given them 64% of the state house spots.
After all this, the Wisconsin Supreme Court Declined to hear the congressional redistricting case ... Wisconsin is one of the most gerrymandered states, a state that is 50/50, or maybe a slight lean left even, but has 75% of its seats republican ... so this is a head scratcher ...
