And it wasn’t even THAT hot/humid by season home opener standards. After the afternoon deluge, things cooled off nicely and it was very pleasant (all relative, of course).

Abusing our defense was a sign of things to come for the remainder of the year.

Dabo needs to go too after that lackluster performance.

Didn’t read through all 11 pages so this has probably already been pointed out.
Last year everyone was pumped after game 1 and then it all came crashing back to reality. It’s just one game and things can turn for the positive just like they turned for the negative last year. Let’s work out the mistakes with the cupcake and get ready for Tennessee. I still think we have a shot at home in Milton’s first road game!

I just can't root for a SEC opponent, although FSU and Miami share a razor thin margin in the despicable index.

If next game is in any way similar to last year's USF game, they may have to shut 'er down here for a while. :emoji_grimacing:

Ole piss beat our 08 team, of course we ahave a legit shot. Let’s just hope we play how we are capable of playing. If we play our best and lose so be it.

Not speaking for the mods, but it was pretty clear to all that Mullen needed to go by the time Marco did his deed. Climbing on Napier’s back right now just isn’t warranted. He took on a mess from Mullen and turning it around doesn’t happen in one season + 1 game

If we play like we did against USF last year, my family will probably shut me down for a while. I'm thinking banishment to the mancave for a day or two. Frankly, if we stink that one up, I'll really need some time to pull myself together before the toothless ones (my apologies to the Peones) get here. :p

Some people feel the need to say the same thing over and over like 6 or 7 times as if that makes their argument stronger

DM also wasn't entering his second game of his second season when the vast majority of UF fans finally turned against him and wanted him gone. There is nothing about that fact that is hard to comprehend. The OP may be a troll, or just an actual Gator fan who truly misses the Darth Wiener schtick, fine. But I believe that most long-time Gators see DM's attitudes and actions, particularly toward the end, as being much less than what The University of Florida has a right to expect from a Head FB Coach. The work ethic and depth of commitment to doing the job at a NC level just weren't there. I'm glad BN is here, I mean for cryin' out loud, get a grip. DM is gone, get over it. If BN fails, he fails. The Cassandras and the trolls will have a field day, one way or another. UF FB will carry on, regardless.

I hated the Mullen hire from day one, but I waited to see how it would progress and I’ll admit the offense especially in 2020 was exciting. I just knew the recruiting was gonna be an issue.

We just need to beat a rival this year....I don't care which one, but since my freshman year at UF in the fall of 1992, I cannot recall one single season (until last year...) that we did not beat a rival.

Spurrier, Zook, Meyer, Muschamp, McElwain and Mullen had at least one win per season against combinations of Tennessee, Georgia or FSU. Sometimes it was just one of them, sometimes two, rarely all three...Hell even the 4 win seasons we beat a rival.

I'm not going to pretend to Monday morning QB Napier, he knows more than I do about coaching football, but I will offer this advice from a long time fan. Win against the rivals...

It's like golf, 17 holes, 20 over par, but 1 hole with a birdie and I'm back the next weekend buying a $300 putter. Gator football is similar...

I hear ya, but those rivals are all pretty good this year. Those three could all the top 10 teams. Maybe that’s a tall order an unlikely this year. I’ll be at the Tennessee game just in case.

No offense, but comparing Napier's situation to Harbaugh is just bizarre. Not a Harbaugh fan but he had a long track record of winning and was an alum. He won at Stanford, won in the NFL and won 20 games his first 2 seasons at Michigan.

On the other hand, the Norvell comparison is probably fair.
