Predicting Top 5 in Next AVCA Volleyball Rankings: 1. Wisconsin 5-0 2. Louisville 6-0 3. Nebraska 5-0 4. Oregon 6-0 5. Florida 4-0 Florida may jump Oregon based on upsetting two top 5 teams 3-0 this week, but I don't see UF passing the top 3. UF and the SEC doesn't get that kind of respect.
You are correct, sir! We've played at our highest level against the ranked teams. Yet we struggled with lowly USF, before ultimately winning in 5 sets. I couldn't watch, but listening to the radio broadcast, the announcers said often that the younger players appeared to lose focus whenever we got a small lead. Can't let that happen against FSU. Kill them. Then dismember them. Then burn their corpses. Then spit on their ashes. It's FSU.
I was at the match. Gators came out flat after the big win over Penn State and it was USF’s Super Bowl playing the Gators. Crowd was raucous when the Bulls went up 2-1 alas UF refocused and won 3-2.
That's actually a good learning experience for the Gators. Road game, trap game, psyched opponent, loud crowd. Work through it and win it.
Surprised UF jumped UNL, Stanford stayed in front of UO, and BYU is behind TexAss even though the Cougars beat Pitt: RANK SCHOOL TOTAL POINTS WIN/LOSS RECORD 1 Wisconsin (61) 1595 5-0 2 Louisville 1488 6-0 3 Florida (2) 1417 4-0 4 Nebraska (1) 1408 5-0 5 Stanford 1366 3-1 6 Oregon 1262 6-0 7 Texas 1175 2-2 8 BYU 1130 6-0 9 Pittsburgh 1089 4-1 10 Minnesota 1030 2-2

With the upcoming game at FSU a week from today, I called the FSU ticket office. At first, I was told that they offered both reserved and general admission seats. But then the woman needed to check with a supervisor. After a TWELVE MINUTE HOLD she came back and said, just general admission. She had no idea whether general admission could be purchased in advance -- I decided that having her ask the supervisor again was not worth another 12 minutes of my life. FSU at its best. So what is the real deal? Can general admission be purchased online in advance? I tried an Internet search and didn't come up with anything. If this is a "walk up" purchase, any chance the gym will sell out and I need to get there early? I have no idea how big their gym is. I like to sit behind the baseline which are not popular seats, so if its not going to sell out, I don't need to get there early.
Not to worry. There will be 147 persons there for the match. And 40 of them will be staff and players. Just kidding. But that's pretty awful performance by the ticket sales office, not able to tell you how you buy tickets. I think Gator fans might show up strong and outnumber the Nolies.
Just watched that report from her. She said she almost moved the Gators all the way up to #1 on her list, but decided to keep Wiscy and Lou-uh-ville there because they've both been very strong and haven't lost.
Top 4 is always the goal, you host til nationals. So 3 at the end of the year would be more than fine with me.
If UF wins out through Wisky on 9/17, both she and the polls will move the Gators to #1. It's too bad UF doesn't have UNL in OOC schedule as well. I'd like to see HC John Cook and his huskers get a butt kicking from UF.
