There's a lot here I agree with - what are your thoughts? Note: please READ article before providing thoughts -- that should be obvious, but...

Florida Gator fans' complaints are the reason the college football power hasn't been a national factor in some time.

    Media is the problem
And hiring duds, unless of course our castoffs have gone on to greatness.

Fans are not responsible for bad hires, which there have several since Meyer.

The fans won’t be the reason for the next coaching change either.

The author never seemed to make the connection between fan complaints and two #3s on the field simultaneously, eight players on field-goal defense, no improvement in discipline-related penalties, or the QB consistently (not as a busted play) throwing short of the line to gain on third down. If I don’t know how I caused it, how am I supposed to change my behavior?

With the portal and NIL, there is no reason to wait 5 years. A turn around can happen in 2-3 years.
I'm not talking winning a NC but year over year improvement and being competitive.

Year over year improvement is definitely possible and it should be expected.

I care to differ, although it's not the only factor. On target article and it's spread to the hoops program as well.

Don't believe it. Read any talk about the next coach? Checkmate.

It wasn’t a particularly long article.

We didn't see that in the Utah game. It looked like a continuation of last year.
From both a coaching and player perspective.

I didn't know that was the only game we were going to play all year. Now I'm sad.

Doesn't the Tennessee example suggest you should keep cycling through coaches until you land on one? Who is to say that sticking with a coach for 5 years and not improving does as much if not more damage to a program? There is no right answer. You either trust the coach to get the job done or you don't, don't worry about the timeline IMO.

It's easy to blame fans for high expectations, but those high expectations also drive monster donations and allow for massive salaries and fancy facilities. Coaches know what they are getting into when they take this kind of job, if that's not what they want then stay at a lower level.

Yeah, I wanted Tennessee to stick with some of those coaches for five years, too. Dooley, in particular.

A win would have been improvement. A loss, now 4 in a row, is a continuation. A win against McNeese won't show us anything.

“The Florida Gators lost their season opener on Thursday night, and it was never close. From a loaded football-hotbed state in the South, they were manhandled by a program in Utah. The reason? The alumni and fan base. Not the product on the field.”

    huh o_O

Patience is one thing. But while the final assessment of any program is wins/losses, that's not the only way to assess a program. You can kind of get an idea through milestones along the way, such as the on-field product, regardless of the final score.

The product we saw in the first game was abysmal. Yes, it's one game, but you can't expect a fanbase and boosters, who have invested heavily in its success to sit quietly and watch the same mistakes and issues rear their ugly head during our first game, in front of a national audience.

This is the same stale argument...blame the fans.
