    The ADL has been vocal in complaining about Twitter "unbanning" and even promoting people that they consider antisemitic and peddlers of hate speech. Musk says that the complaining by the ADL about hate speech on Twitter ... and not the resurgence of hate speech itself ... is what caused advertisers to leave. Musk estimates the ADL has caused $22 Billion in damages to Twitter, about half of what he paid for it. The value of Twitter has declined by about 65% to 15 billion after Musk paid $44 billion for it.

    On the other hand, an organization as extreme as the ADL shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near speech monitoring.

    Even assuming Musk has some evidence of false statements made by ADL that could constitute defamation, I doubt he wants to open up the sort of discovery that litigation might entail. Not to mention trying to prove up the claimed damages.

    He can. He won't win (as truth is a defense to these sorts of allegations, and Twitter has often unbanned and even promoted people with anti-Semitic views since he took over). But he can.

    Awww.... the self appointed defender of free speech is suing because someone ... wait for it ... used their right of free speech.

    Used to love going to Twitter to get info on events, but now it is just a huge hate fest. So many trolls being "elevated."

    They funniest thing I've seen is that parody accounts are getting blue checked as "verified".

    One thing I've noticed is that I can only see a handful of an account's recent posts. Is that because I don't pay for the check mark or is that something happening with the posters?

    I've noticed that, too. If I click through to someone's account, it will only show me one post they've made and it's usually and old post ... then I get bombarded with pop ups telling me to sign in or sign up. That seems like a new "feature" ... lol.

    You can sue anybody for any reason. But that doesn't mean you'll win, and you may well get sanctioned for it. Moreover, suing a Jewish organization for criticizing you because you let Nazis run wild on Twitter is a baaaaadddd look. I say this as somebody who is no fan of ADL.

    Musk is incapable of comprehending what a bad look is or the consequences it bears. Perhaps it stems from his professed autism.
