This is one of those plays that these refs have to call exactly the same way from now on. Or they have to apologize for getting that play penalty administered incorrectly.

Maybe Clemson should be happy with their tv share of rights. Looks like Stanford and Cal might be a bit of a challenge

A 3 TD loss to Duke should be disqualifying from earning an SEC invite for the next 3 years.

I would agree with the way they assessed this penalty *IF* the play was over for a few seconds or an unrelated personal foul happened, but this was the play's tackle. It was completely related to the play itself and thus Clemson should've been rewarded with keeping the ball.

Marco Wilson's shoe toss was completely unrelated to the ending of LSU's play, and yet they STILL let LSU keep possession. Last night's personal foul was much more a part of the actual play than the shoe toss, so why wasn't Clemson allowed to keep possession?? And full disclosure, I hate Clemson.

The shoe toss was on a 3 and 10 play, so there was no change of possession. So it was also a dead ball penalty, 15 yards and a 1st down.

Clemson vs. Duke score, takeaways: Tigers implode, Blue Devils pull off biggest win in modern program history

“Technically, this was an upset since Duke closed as 13-point underdogs prior to kickoff, but it really wasn't. Why? Duke flat-out whipped Clemson in every aspect. Leonard was, by far, the better quarterback and took over the game from the start. Not many quarterbacks would have showed the poise he did in the face of one of the best defensive fronts in college football. Yet, Riley never panicked, even on the rare occasions when he felt pressure.

The battle in the trenches when Duke had the ball was strength vs. strength, and the Blue Devils' offensive line had no problem taking care of the Tigers. Riley wasn't sacked all night and the running backs averaged 5.3 yards per rush. For the first time in a long time, the Tigers' normally stifling defense was outclassed by a conference opponent. Perhaps more importantly, Duke's team speed was comparable to -- if not better than -- the Tigers. This wasn't a fluke.”

Mike Elko has done a helluva job, only his 2nd year @ Duke and as a HC. Dabo on the other hand..

Dead ball foul, ball already changed possession?

Isn’t it a dead ball as soon as he starts a slide?

The issue I have with those slides is if it’s a deadbolt how does the ball continue to move forward with the quarterback is sliding and you can’t get him to stop it

While it does appear that Elko is doing a great job, it's still early in the season.

And Clemson's 3-4 record over their last seven games is no fluke. Dabo made his living off Venables' stout defenses, and NFL caliber quarterbacks. Both are gone now, and this isn't the Clemson of old.
