I didn’t even know who Lumpy was when he played ball so I didn’t hate him till after he got here.

It was well known when he was hired tho.

Objectively, it shouldnt matter, its a job to most of these guys unlike the fans. I recall Pat Dye being a Georgia grad and Vince Dooley being an Auburn grad. Both hires worked out pretty well.

It’s different when they are unknown players. I know who Danny Kannel is and I already don’t like him just like dion

Thank you, for those of us seeing this last year and getting disagreements we appreciate so many getting this now. There were several examples last year of coaches that took over programs that did not have great talent but they did really good things in their first year studies would show that urgency is a major part of the mindset that leads to quick turnaround’s in whatever it may be.
Great leaders don’t say I need three, four, or five years and in today’s age when you can flip a roster in six or seven months, well, like I said, several others have shown that they can do it quickly

About urgency brother. There are several other programs that did more with less last year and the coach was in his first year.

I guess people failed to see or understand the recruiting & cultural mess left by Mullen, et al. The administration finally seems to support UF football achieving elite status once again, but only if done via a process that transcends the coach, i.e. we're not going to get a gun for hire only to see the program implode when he leaves. We all need to get onboard with this approach & be patient while it develops.

It’s so good to hear people complain when they have no idea what they are talking about.

Do you know what we need? A GOAT!

No, I don't mean Spurrier or Tom Brady, I mean a goat.

    GAAAAAAAP!

Great coaches turn a program around in year two. I once made a list of all the coaches who after two years had a program turned around or it was obvious to all that success was imminent.

After year one all of Volnation felt optimistic about CJH.

Duke and Elko another one. Look what he did last year with much less talent and look what he’s doing tonight. A guy that’s brand new to a program and winning.

Elko at Duke in year 1:

One outstanding season as a head coach earned Mike Elko ACC Coach of the Year honors — and a nice contract extension.

Duke has reworked and enhanced Elko’s contract after he led the Blue Devils to a 9-4 record last season, and their first bowl appearance since 2018.
