I don’t like Finebaum- he used to be ok but that show us unlistenable now and he says stuff for clicks… however, I’m gonna bite here… Finebaum on Napier today “he’s basically a highschool gym coach who says nothing compelling and doesn’t own up to mistakes and they are not getting better down there” Thoughts ?? My 1st thought is- this isn’t good for Napier or the program. Our rivals are the talk of the town and we are a joke. However, he basically said the same stuff about Harbaugh for 3 years and that got turned around. So who knows?
My first thought is incredulity at how everyone always finds negative things said about UF by people who have never worn a jock strap, then brings them here to give them more oxygen and page clicks. But that’s me .
Now all I can think of is how many times he said he was "shocked" in the swamp kings show. Interviewer: Paul, you were at a red light and then the light suddenly turned green. Paul: I gotta tell ya (pause for effect).... I WAS SHOCKED! He's a clown with the ears to match.
Billy has yet to admit to not having the team prepared. lt is always the same tired coach speak. 4 wins if that came happen is a stretch at this point. Seems i just watched a team with 53 portal transfers beat last years NC runner up. Oh well wait til next year.
Gator fans should give zero shits about what Finebaum says. Gator coaches should be doing the job to shut them up. /STOP
He doesn't like us at all. Was watching his show this week and was talking to the beat writer for the dogs mentioning how we lost to Michigan in Dallas. He was at the game and said "I cried the whole way back". The dog guy (forget his name) said "Yeah sure you did". Finebaum rolled his eyes and smiled. I'm not watching him anymore.
my bad- thread should’ve been titled “let’s go gators! In all kinds of weather” In fact, why is each thread not entitled that? Yuck yuck yuck.
Napier took full responsibility for the loss at today's press conference. Said he is the only one to blame. That's a start.
I’m actually not a big Napier fan, and I’m the last person who would ever be called a sunshine pumper. I’m simply saying that giving these idiots oxygen does nothing but harm the program and encourage more of it out there, it’s self defeating. And it’s coming from someone who knows about as much of what he’s watching as most of us yahoos here. So who cares? That people can’t see that has never made sense to me. But you do you.
I will say this first of all... You cannot believe one word that snake oil salesman (Finebaum) spews from his own mouth. One thing that Napier could do is find a dedicated OC so he an be free to be the CEO that he needs to be of our football program. And even though one coach comes to mind, Bowden, he won a ton of games in college football as a CEO, one that never called plays on offense nor on defense. He was a good CEO of his team when he was their head ball coach. There are other coaches that were great college football CEOs out there that knew what needed to be done, and were good coaches that also let their OCs and DCs call their own plays. Maybe he can test drive an OC sometime in the near future. But one thing he really needs is a Ron Zook type coach on special teams. But again, Finebaum is FULL OF CRAP. Napier is a far better coach than he thinks he is. Napier is still growing and leaning the SEC way of football. Remember that NIL and the Transfer Portal are relatively new for him ... he made the jump into the SEC... to a new school in need of a complete rebuild on top of that? That would be a learning curve for any new coach jumping into the ranks of the SEC. And he had to clean out the entire football program... that set him back one full year, IMHO. Napier will get it done, it will just take a little time, so don't listen to that Gator hating clown, Finebaum. He's busy causing Gator Nation trouble with his inventions.
I hear all this stuff about Finebaum here but when I listen to him (on rare occasion), it doesn’t seem like he talks any worse about our program than the typical member of this forum. I would think that he’d be praised for being just like our fanbase. There hasn’t been much positive to say the past few years, so why would anyone expect him to say positive things. If anything, I’d use him as a litmus test. When we hear Finebaum start praising the Gators, we’ll know we are making strides.
Useless, kept ignoring the elephant in the room. Admit he is not qualified to be an OC in SEC and that would be a start.
What I don't like is how our week 1 ineptitude has become a national news story. Need to put 60 on Mcneese. A 24-7 victory isn't going to cut it.
I worry about some of you and your mental health. The need to just continue with this stuff and bring it up in every thread can’t be good for the stress. It’s gonna be okay. It is first and foremost just a game. There is absolutely nothing any of us can say or do to change the current situation. Enjoy the day. Why wallow in the misery.
