Fsu rushed the field when they beat us last year. There were several of us chuckling watching them thinking they did something.
I know what you mean but I saw some good things with Mertz, Douglas, Pearsall, Wilson, 2/7 out of the backfield and Odom. Once we got behind we had to abandon the running game which did struggle. We know what we have with 2/7. The big question marks in 2023 were QB and playmakers. I think we saw good things Fine meaning we know what 2/7 can and will do. The big question mark in 2023 on Offense was QB play and playmakers. Mertz, Pearsall, Douglas, Burke, Wilson showed we are fine. Oline is missing their captain so yea I think we will be fine on O.
In case anyone was wondering, I said 52 because McNeese State just gave up 52 to Tarleton State. Tarleton State! I'm serious, if we score something like 30 against them, Napier officially be on the hot seat.
Work out the kinks, keep the starters in for reps and to pad the lead, then let the backups get some game reps. Hope for no injuries and focus on the vols next week. btw I hope extra time is spent on red zone offense. Shot ourselves in the foot way too much at Utah.
Earlier before Utah game, I would have wanted UF to spend some time preparing for UT during this week. However, I don't think we can overlook anyone including McNeese.
I had us 6-6 before the year started. I agree with your first 3. I guess I'm the only who thinks South Carolina is ass, but I thought that preseason and I think that now. That's 4. Missouri is 5. One of Kentucky, Arkansas or FSU (yeah I still believe we can win that game. Partly because I hate the Noles and partly because it's at the end of the year and in our house)
We will get better and won’t play but a few more teams that are good. I know it’s a tough schedule but if you lose to the Kentuckys, meh it just isn’t that important after that. Next if we get avg sec oline play, we will be fine on offense for a rebuild year
Some say its already hot, but I'll bite: (A) Hot - 5 wins (B) Hot as Ghost Pepper - 4 wins (C) Hot as the surface of Sun - anything less than 4 wins It appears to me that we have players that might be able to compete against any team remaining on our schedule not named Georgia or FSU (gag ), but that OL has got to get ironed out or we could just as easily go in reverse. If we get embarrassed on our home field by UT, then its going to a very difficult coaching job keeping this team motivated and working to move forward. EDIT: None of what I posted means I think that BN won't be the UF coach in 2024. I think he will even if UF goes 2-10. But I guarantee that seat will be some degree of hot next year if one of the above options comes to pass. He would be coaching to keep his job at that point.
Yeah, the offense I witnessed in Utah is the same one I saw in the O&B game. Serviceable, nothing fancy, not explosive, scores minimal points. That's not going to cut it unless our defense is the '86 Bears.
Red Zone? Hell, I want 80 yard pass and run plays to the house. We can shoot ourselves in the foot at our own 40 just as easily as we can in the red zone.
