Is the O-line fixable

I’m curious if the coaches ever watch these videos. Essentially they’re volunteer unpaid assistants breaking down the film for them. Maybe they’re not always right, but they seem to have some good insights.

 

I’m sure the coaches/assistants are aware of these videos. The issue with these analyses is that the analyzer doesn’t know the play design or the progressions/reads 100% so there’s a lot of guesswork as to how it should look.

Nice breakdown and about what I thought. Team is solid but just wasn’t ready game 1 to play a very good team on the road.

 

Really good post. To further that, I hope this oline has the ability to be coached up.

 

Not fire them, but, if we don't beat the brakes off Mcneese St., that will be an issue. Every other team seems to beat their overmatched opponent 65 - 3. If we win 24 to 10 or something, then that indicates we aren't very good. Scheme or no scheme, we have to score a shit ton of points this week. If nothing else to help the team feel more confident.

Also: did Meyer's teams lead the conference in penalties most years? There's a correlation between penalties and wins, but I doubt it is the correlation.

Last night's game. One team had 7 penalties for 64 yards. The other: 2 for 30. Guess which team won?

You can say "ours were at the worst time" but ouch, FSU in the first half kept letting LSU out of jail. I suspect what matters more than the penalties: FSU d-line was super-stout and resilient. They survived killer penalties. Their offense was potent enough to move the chains on 3-and-long.

BTW, any chance Grantham is DC at LSU? Talking about giving up back-to-back 3rd-and-12 first downs. Asking for a friend.

Y’all do realize that Kingsley, the leader of the OL, was out right? And that none of these guys have ever played together. OL takes time to gel and they didn’t get to open the season with a cupcake at home like most of the SEC teams did. Utah has a veteran defensive line and LBs. Hopefully Kingsley is back this week.

 

We will see against Tennessee if our
O - Line is really that bad or if Utah’s
D - Line is really that good.
