Stop, you're just trying to take back what you said about the Gators...

I believe in Napier and I believe in his methods right now.. And part of that is pre-snap motions/shifts.

I think the issue is, some think it’s the play call. You and I are saying it’s the execution. Like I said, we can discuss that the play is too complicated for our young guys to digest. I don’t think it should be a discussion about that the play doesn’t work as it has worked on all levels including at the highest.

Sadly, both teams look competent and prepared. SWAC getting manhandled would have taken the edge off. But even if they lose this game, they clearly came to compete and have succeeded.

If it doesn’t have anything to do with me then why be so condescending and nasty toward me when all I want to do is have some fun and talk some football? Perhaps I am new to this particular forum but it doesn’t automatically make me inferior to you in some way.

The pre snap and motion are fine but the over arching theme is more urgency and not all the cute stuff. 14 points last two games. More pace and stretching the field. Like a shortstop waiting for a slow paced pitcher.

I’d rather my coach trust me to convert than to play scared.

I feel the same way, but Mertz is a fourth year starter and is a very cerebral QB1... And you are right it's execution too. If it gives our QB1 more information and he can glean it then it's definitely worth it.

Well we will be better off when we face them later in the year. The good thing is, neither of these teams have a lot of depth so us getting them later in the year is to our advantage.

Apparently not. Cost us a penalty in the red zone for delay of game, cost us two minutes easily late and we still didn’t score, so no in our specific situation the data say it’s not worth it. Last 2 games 14 points total.

I think it’s the OL and TE blocking. One more second in some of those plays and Mertz makes that throw.

You think the play calling was the reason and not inexperienced players on the road?

It's nothing that I want to keep taking about in a game thread... Sorry if I was hard on you, I never meant to offend you.

Jeez, calm down. Someone made a post years ago about how FSU was playing so hard for Taggart in a way that Florida players were not playing for Mullen. It was a dumb post and it gets brought up periodically because it was indeed stupid.

I wasn’t even responding to you originally.

Saw this on another board from a pretty smart guy:

The thing I despise about our offense most is we don't have to worry about the defense crowding the box on us, we do it for them with our formations and alignment. We consistently waste entire 15-20 seconds on each play with shifting guys right and left and still continue to orbit motion.

Two man routes, 12 personnel, etc...we don't need just a new OC, we need a new identity on offense. We are essentially allowing opposing defenses to stay in a base coverage because we aren't creative. Think Heupel is overrated as an HC but look at his route concepts and running attack. It gets guys open while we run flag football routes.

    Can’t disagree with him.
