Consider yourself lucky because a blank screen was better than what I saw last night.

Here's a good comparison between the two options. Right now, Hulu+ Live TV is cheaper and their price includes ESPN+ and Disney+, which YouTube TV does not. Hulu is raising their price by $4/month in October. More and more college games are being shown on ESPN+ (including almost all of Gator lacrosse). I tried YouTube TV on a trial a year or so ago and liked it, but am going to go with Hulu+ in December and see how it goes. To each his own.
YouTube TV vs Hulu + Live TV: Which cable TV alternative wins?

We had YouTubeTV the last 2 years but it has gotten so expensive. It used to be only $50/mo but now it’s around $75.

Decided to try SlingTV Orange package this year to see if they have improved. (We had Sling before YouTube but found it lacking). We like to use the DVR function (also available with YT) to start watching late and zip through the commercials. We were watching the game last night and twice Sling forced me to watch commercials after I had fast forwarded through them. That might be ok for a free service but not when I’m paying for it! Anyone else noticed this with Sling?

Anyway, they have my money for this month but I’ll likely switch back to YouTubeTV or maybe try Hulu Live when the month is up, despite the higher cost. I just can’t stand commercials and wanted to warn others.

I went the other direction. Got tired of YouTube TV and one glitch after another.

What device were you using? I know quite a few people who are happy with youtubetv.

Customer service is a lost art. I don’t know anyone who’s truly happy with the customer service provided by any of the service providers. Streaming, cable, or sat. Just have to hope you find a service where you don’t need CS. Luckily I haven’t ever needed help with my directtv streaming service. It just works.

I know I'm butting in here, but we've got 2 ROKU boxes and have been using them for Prime & Netflix, plus did a 2 week free trail with YouTube TV and had no trouble at all.

Hulu w/ ads + live, Disney, and ESPN + all w/ ads is $70/m plus taxes.

Hulu no ads + live, Disney and ESPN + all w/ ads is $83/m plus taxes.

Disney and ESPN + no ads no longer an option (have to be grandfathered in), but cost nothing extra with Hulu Live.

We have been using roku’s for years, and we’ve had minimal issues, but really only with the first gen “sticks”. We run all ultra’s in our house and have the newer 4k sticks in our travel bags and haven’t had issues with any of them. We’ve had lots of issues with the “smart” features built directly into the tv’s, and other stick devices.

Depends on the plan. I have the base plan at $69.99/month which includes everything ESPN except ESPN+, CBSS, FS1, FS2, ACCN, BIG 10N, SECN, Golf Network, and NFL channel. Plus all major network’s local stations.
