1/13 on 3rd down wasn’t just us shooting ourselves in the foot. And no this isn’t the best Utah team they have ever had. Nobody expected perfection yesterday, check the news wires rick, the national news media is ripping our team’s execution and preparation. They aren’t all gator haters out there.
That may not be true about the depth of gator haters out there. It’s probably true but they don’t like us and jump at the chance. Do they write a bunch of crazy articles about Michigan losing to a TCU team tgat got blown out in the worst route in bowl history that then goes on to start the next season by losing to an unranked team tgat only won one game the previous year. It’s all true but they kick us pretty good when we are down. They don’t like us .
I don’t know that other fans hate us or like us, but they see a program that has a lot of success looking really crappy. Most probably don’t know the back story of how we got where we are. We have Graham Merton as QB, a clearly green OL, and staring with a defense that was one of the worst in the country over the last 3 years. Anthony Richardson and a decent OL last year papered over a lot of underlying issues.
Sorry, cacual fan I kept saying AR saved BN last year but a bunch of genius on this board claimed AR was the problem. Now they get to witness the true BN's O without the help of AR, with a BN hand-selected QB fits HIS system
AR was the solution and the problem. Arguably, he won the Utah game for us. Arguably, he lost the KY game for us.
So this year it would be Merz's fault if we lost to KY? Stoops schooled BN on that game (planning/play calling). Sure, we should have won had AR had a good game, but it would be AR saved BN's butt again. AR was mis-used all year long.
Lot's of strawman in your mini rant, pa. I never mentioned half of what you are ranting about. But yes, failing to make 3rd downs IS SHOOTING OURSELVES IN THE FOOT. Get over it. Stop complaining about that game. It's over...
Sorry Rick I was addressing your points that seem to make things seem better than they are. Not one straw man dude. If you don’t want people to discuss things here then don’t post things that are so patently wrong. And trust me I’m over it. At this point we are no better and maybe worse than last year. It is what it is. I’ll leave you with this to consider: The last 6 Gators coaches record when reaching 8 losses: Spurrier: 27-8. Meyer: 31-8. Muschamp: 18-8. McElwain: 18-8. Mullen: 29-8. Napier: 6-8
Gotcha. I'll have to go back to re-read my post in a very clear and concise way to determine is I understood you post.
I actually think Mertz did pretty well all things considered. The Pick was bad luck/bad hands. 300+ yards. With zero run game. If we can fix that(shocked at how bad it was), the offense should be much better. I just can’t figure out why we still can’t get punt returners to let a ball go over their heads when they are standing on the 10, and how we still have such bad FS penalties.
