I’ve only gotten one time out and I think I may have called a poster a derogatory name and they had no choice even if they may have agreed with what I said.
That said, all negativity isn’t necessarily wrong, it’s just that not many people enjoy listening to a bunch of whiny bitches. We watch the same games and nobody that’s a gator fan enjoyed Thursday night.

    You make good points.
One would expect a professional would be able to minimize the stupid mistakes that we have seen for a year now.
These aren’t guys that have just started playing the game.

How many punts fielded inside the 10 vs Utah, we saw that last year many times. It a simple concept stand on the 10 if it’s over your head let the ball go….

Trust me I didn’t think given our schedule we would be better than 6/6 looking at us on paper, but shoot how many 4/5* does a team need to be able to execute the fundamentals consistently?

Another season of being gaslighted by the optimists. That’s fine. I’ll enjoy the memes this team produces this year. Me and my buddy are both wearing #3 jerseys to the McNeese game.

I see people some being “negative” in response to some who seem to be wearing blinders or who were so sold on “the system” or Napier being a Saban guy.

Call me critical, but I’m not sold until I see improvements on multiple levels.

For the record I wasn’t jumping up and down for Meyer his first year either and his resume was more impressive IMHO.

its one game. Yes the on field screw ups are concerning. But also there was a fair amount of churn from last season. I wanted us to win, but expected us to lose. I’m not going to jump off a building because they lost like I expected, but made some inexplicable mistakes.

IMO this season is a write off. I hope to see some bright spots and some wins, but with an average at best QB, it’s gonna be ugly.

It has to improve. No one will ever dispute that. Thursday was hard to swallow as it should be but it’s a work in progress we hope.

I am admittedly fair weathered. I’ll follow the gators and watch the games, mostly but I’m not investing my well being in a bunch of 18-22 year olds that don’t know I exist and could give a shit about me if they even knew me.

I have been reading message boards long enough to remember fans in 1998-2000 who were really tired of Spurrier because they didn’t think he was as good a recruiter as Bowden and Miami. Fans on message boards are stupid.

The problem with posting on message boards and if a contrarian people become vested on being right, and those that are pessimistic end up having the dilemma of team success or personally being right.

After Zook lost to winless Miss St, I was outraged. How is this possible?! This is unacceptable!! I went to the message boards (gator sports I think) and the fan reaction was so over the top I actually decided to rethink things.

As a teenager I remember 0-10-1 with Pell. But in a couple of years we had a damn good team due to incredible talent (notwithstanding the methods that got them here )

I use to be mad for days and it doesn’t get to me as much as it use to. It’s just football and it’s can be quite entertaining but it’s more maddening than golf. Like sucking at golf, I just decided to try to enjoy shooting like shit and having a nice shot here or there.

Growing up in the 70s and going to college in the 80s I experienced a lot of ups and downs. Spurrier spoiled a lot of fans in the 90s. They seem to think they are personally entitled to national titles.

It happened to Maryland in 2017, Michigan State in 2016, Vanderbilt in 2020. It happens more than you think with the growing number of duplicate jerseys, which is bound tonhappen when you have a team of over 100 players, it's an oversight and you probably don't hear about it much because it's only a 5 yard penalty and people don't usually wine about it for days.
Vanderbilt football penalized vs Ole Miss for 2 players with same number

Maryland got a penalty because 2 players wore No. 57 on the same play

We just seemed to pick the worst moments to screw up thursday night. It wasn’t a huge number of mistakes if you just look at it on paper but damn, if your rival got to pick when they occurred, they would have nailed it. It was like it was on cue. Penalties don’t have to hurt so bad every single time.

Watching UCLA not very closely, and one of their defensive players was offsides something like 5 times in a row. But Chip Kelly was the guy we were all watching airport radars hoping we would get.

Me too used to be if we lost a game to a team we had no business losing to I’d be pissed for a week.
Over the years it lost its impact. Having a family likely had something to do with that.
One only has a finite amount of energy.
My wife used to say who cares the Gators don’t even know you exist. ….

Jumping is something I find hard to put on a coach. It’s not like they are confused about what they are to do or anything. They know it’s wrong right? How do you coach that? Just have to put them on the bench is all I can think of. “ it’s my fault i put you out there” right?

6 times now. I’m just saying kids do dumb stuff. If it happens one game, shit happens. If it is happening every game you have a problem.
