Yup, we get a little riled up after a loss. Perhaps the Gator Country writers articulate and critique the floundering and associated challenges in a more humane manner. This football stuff is an emotional experience from the fan perspective. I'm not sure anyone feels worse than the players. We're not playing SEC level ball just yet, but I'm not sure anyone is working harder to get there than the staff and players.

There is a reason the mom's like Corch and want their kids to be coached up by him. He'll get this ramped up. They'll all need to dig deep. Us fans need to dig deep as well.

Things will get better!

As someone opined, the heat and humidity made Utah look worse than they were last year.

And the altitude and lack of experience made us look worse that we are this year!

I believe that person is correct.

We will move forward, I am sure!

 

0-1 and a small handful turds are crying about losing a game. They’ll say it’s not that we lost, it’s how we lost, blah, blah, blah. I’ll be there for every home game this year good, bad, or ugly. We were not winning the Natty this year. Lots of football still to be played. If we see the same mistakes with the illegal formations and two players, with the same numbers on the field at the same time, then I will join the Turd crowd. Those costly mistakes are very simple to fix. It was not a talent issue. This would’ve been a great year to have a cupcake game scheduled as the first game.

We will be fine and I could see us going on a run beating TN and KY after watching both of those teams today.

It’s early in the season and we witnessed a young team on the road make young team mistakes.

I am in the camp who would like to see Napes hire and turnover play-calling to a designated OC. I do think he is missing some details in other areas because he’s focused on calling plays. Very few head coaches win a natty being the head coach, and also a coordinator. This is something he needs to explore sooner rather than later.

 

Yes, understood and I believe it would have died down a bit as everyone eased off the ledge. I remember after the LSU baseball debacle, tempers were flaring and it got a little chippy on Diamond.
At the same time, we Gator fans and alum take our sports seriously so it is natural to vent to anyone and everyone. As I age, it’s not nearly as important to me as when Georgia was beating us every year it seemed; I was so incensed after those games you wouldn’t want to be around me!
I think our fan base on GC is knowledgable and engaged in Gator sports and it hurts to lose and even more when we are a dumpster fire. My sister-in-law is an Aubarn grad and never says anything negative about UF. But, just today, she kept saying the Utah game was bad, just bad and it was.
One game does not make a season, let’s support our team and look to get better as the season moves along.

I discovered that the Game day thread evidently doesn’t allow honest criticism. Not sure why that is, but I found that disappointing. I mean it’s a forum for discussion not a forum for glass half full optimism only right?

everything is great, moving in right direction, full faith, how many #3s do we have on the team again?

 

We’re going to lose games that’s just how it is. That I can accept. All the miscues we had are correctable, that I know. It’s just disconcerting to see them after having so long to prepare. More disappointed than anything but look forward to the upside. After the TN game we will have a pretty good idea what kind of team and their character we have, coaching too. Go Gators!

 

We were a 6-7 team playing against the #14 team in the country - back to back PAC12 champions.

We had our chances. CBN will get things fixed.
