With what aspect of the game? Talent, for instance? And is it an aspect that can be learned in the course of this season?

If we play mistake free it’ll be way different but what we were was walking mistake all night. It wasn’t the number of penalties but at crucial times and all just mental breakdowns.

Penalties. Clean up the penalties and the Utah game looks much different. Yes, I believe that is correctable during the season.

Hilarious that I didn't say anything about who, yet you felt the need to justify. Hmmm.

And correcting penalties is a function of what?

    We beat ourselves!

of course, Utah is saying, how did we miss all these throws. Everyone is trying to improve.

That will be the sentiment I'm afraid of others if our play doesn't improve. Truthfully, the cost of tickets to watch games plus travel won't be worth it to see UF play and be coached like this. I was at a Gator club gathering in Knoxville and 3/4 of the people left at halftime disgusted.

I could only come up with 2 more victories, while looking over the schedule. 3 if we can take Vanderbilt.

I guess we have to hire Deion Sanders to get that fixed. Or maybe some of the guys on this forum.

I too have preached patience, but I have to say I'm really wavering after the Utah game. Again, it's not that we lost but how we lost. I saw the same mistakes being made that existed last year. A coach who is so detailed with everything else doesn't have someone watching to see if we have 2 players wearing the same number that caused a key penalty? 8 men during fg try. The hiring of 2 OL coaches where lack of discipline was costly. No urgency with time running out. A 2 minute offense that took nearly 5 minutes to move 30 yards. Punt returners who consistently fielded punts within the 10 yard line. Running backs that rarely go carries. I'm afraid we are going to get boat raced by several teams this year with a record worse than last. There is no question BN is a character guy. He is hitting it with recruiting. But if he is deficient in coaching and unable to coach and inspire winning football I'm afraid he will not only lose recruits but will lose the fanbase as well.

I stopped reading there. Probably more afterwards.

I'll just say two things for now:

    1. If everyone knew the potential result of the tantrums being thrown since Thursday night, with the owner of Gator County now getting involved, many wouldn't be so glib and fuel the continuing meltdown.

    2. If everyone knew the actual, real-life, off-season poaching attempts made with ETN alone, and what a great kid he is, this joke about him and others leaving would not be nearly so funny. Well, to some I guess it still would be. They joke about their constant negativity.

They are connected in a way that most of the consistently negative will continue to deny . . . although I've said repeatedly that the UAA and former players themselves definitively tell us, first-hand, these things have an effect . . . on players, coaches, their families, recruits, the entire program . . . but some will surely pipe-up and continue to claim "they're only passionate" and "it's just a message board."

I'd say more but it hasn't helped so far. By all means, continue on . . .

Yeah, but TCU was smoke and mirrors all last year, and now... they suck. But our win over the #7 team last year was far more difficult than what Colorado faced today.

Coaching? Is that your gotcha? I don’t think anyone has said the coaches have nothing to work on.

I have so much respect for your posts and insights. I think most passionate gator fans are succumbing to the notion based on Utah's game that this will be another losing season. So yes lots of frustrations and impatience. It's not just losing but seeing a recurrence of mistakes from a year ago.
The thing is, I could fill this page with negative headlines plastered all over the internet, web sight, and among various sportscasters. What is posted here actually is mild in comparison of what's being said. Furthermore, anyone watching our game whether they are a fan of ours or not sees poor coaching when already this coaching staff has been under the microscope. At this point, forums like this at least allows venting but be assured what is seen on the field is far more influential that what is being posted by fans who want so badly for this team to succeed.

A good therapist never answers the question but rather leads the subject to finding the answer. But as we just got dressed down, once again, for being glib as a psychological coping mechanism for despair, I’ll drop it and go back to the much more optimistic subject of Ukrainian victory.

Yeah, it’s the ramblings of fans on a random message board who will cause recruits to change their reservations, and not a staff that has yet to show it can coach the game of football to an average high school program level.
