Yeah, and we have many fast receivers on out team, so the 00 and the 10 personnel set schemes would make our team dangerous RIGHT NOW, becasue we have the right pieces to make those two offensive schemes work.
I don’t care how we do it, just make it work. It was working against Utah just fine except the mistakes killed everything. We didn’t lose because of scheme. Scheme may could be better or more exciting but the fact is, our mistakes kill drives no matter what your scheme is. At this point, we just have to hope that game was an outlier because I’d not, it can’t get better no matter the set your in or the scheme you run will make any difference.
It’s not weird at all. He gets out of a limo and I want to puke. If I had a kid that had talent to play, I’d want him to win no doubt but I’d never let that clown be a role model to my kid under any circumstances.
We are NOT using our weapons the way we should... whether or not the 12 personnel worked or not is irrelevant. These are two different arguments. I never said that we should totally abandon the 12 personnel I'm simply saying that we need to ADD THE 00 and the 10 personnel to our offense. It's talent waiting to exploit a defense.
I get that but it wasn’t our problem against Utah Mullen became an exclusively passing team for Trask but the plays don’t count after a false start. We just saw a qb that had no problem finking and dunking a team to death and fir e receivers would get those guys out of the box to run more but scheme can’t help what happened Thursday.
That’s not couches you are smelling. Didnt read the whole thread but is Coach Prime calling plays? Is he OC or DC? Or does he lean into his strengths as a CEO and let more qualified people do those jobs?
I have never even mentioned Utah... What's up with you and Utah? This is NOT about Utah. This is about the talent that we can exploit that is already on our team, that's it... That is all.
It’s the only game we’ve played that has any relevance to the players we have playing offense for us. Scheme had nothing to do with that loss. Maybe the scheme could be better, but that’s not what happened
Nope... that game has nothing to do about what I am saying. My point is NOT in reference to the Utah game, nor how we played in that game. It's stand alone observation about the talent we have on our team. For all we know we have the 00 and the 10 personnel set scheme in our offense... Who knows. But I know that if we don't have it that we should have it... we have the right speedy receivers to make it work. That is all....
100% agree, but watching a film review, the lack of athleticism currently at that position. I couldn't help but think, what if that was a WR rather than TE in open space.
The talent we have on our team has been seen once. Maybe Napier should know more but I’ve seen one game. Mertz was an eye opener to me as to how I would think he should be used but I can’t get past how sloppy we were.
I'll say if we played them week 1, yeah probably right. We work out some kinks and we would have a good shot at winning against either team.
I have confidence in CBN. I agree, (ALMOST always do) with gatorrick and wanne. The biggest concern I have about our team is the same concern I had before Thursday night: OL. I think they are capable of doing the job we need but they fell a tad short against Utah. Didn’t look awful but we need a bit more and once that unit has a game or two under their belt that might happen. Next biggest concern is unforced errors. We continue to be our own worst enemy. PLEASE stop fielding punts inside the 10 and it’s not bad strategy to fair catch a kickoff and start at the 25. We need to start winning football games. Period. And I think we have the Jimmys and Joes to do it.
The real story of this game is Deion’s son. Wow. That’s one helluva line to post against a top 25 team on the road.
I'm sure we haven seen all the sets-schemes and plays. But I know we can score serious point with the right personnel sets/schemes on offense. It we added Wilson to the 3 receivers we have on the 11 personnel then we take out the TE... that makes it a 10 personnel. Even that will make for a better ,middle of the football field, offense.
Great win for Coach Prime and the gang. That’s what good coaching and elite preparation on the road in the first game of the season looks like.
