I hope there's an email out there between Spectrum and Disney showing complicity in all this, and the timing.

Just an old fashioned money grab by Disney. Cable is suffering mightily as many folks opt to save money by going to streaming services despite the downsides. So Spectrum is trying to hold the line on cost

Spectrum trying to hold the line on cost??? Now that's funny, thanks.
They may be trying holding the line on their cost, but that doesn't mean they're gonna pass any savings along to customers.

Disney is not the only broadcaster who does this, but yes, it is most definitely a power play by Disney. Difficult to blame them. They have the upper hand. They own the content and Spectrum is hemorrhaging customers. Why would they go easy on Spectrum/Charter?

I can’t stand all the buffering and passwords, signing in, changing apps, looking through all that crap. I have cable at my house and my girlfriend has Hulu Amazon , Netflix, tu I and 15 other apps which in reality has way more than I get for 300 a month but take my money and the hell with her aggravating caveman remote.

I’ve got 1 TV in the house and watch very little. I pay for Hulu when football season starts and then cancel. Tons of channels never made sense to me. Very little of it is quality entertainment.

Cable or streaming service - either is susceptible to these issues.

while also having different issues- there are various online sites you can stream for free. Use a tablet and broadcast to the TV if desired.

But these avenues are not without hassles.

They are suffering mightily because of their decades-long poor business practices, terrible service, and counting on monopoly power to skewer the consumer. I hope they suffer more.

Not sure if some don't realize that Disney, because of their poor returns, are trying to "force" all their programming onto Spectrum, as part of this dispute. And extra costs along with it.

I think both parties share some blame but I lay the majority of it at Disney.....

One of the reasons I chose Hulu Live to replace cable is that ESPN should never have a dispute here since they are the same company. Hulu isn’t perfect but has steadily gotten better over time, so I can live with it. Can even watch live ESPN+ inside Hulu if you have that subscription.

I want to turn on my TV and the football game be on and I do not want to push extra buttons to find a movie. Please give me the guide that has everything on it that I can look within 30 seconds.

Both my parents hated the idea initially, but both use streaming services now.

My mom still has satellite, but uses netflix, hbomax, and a few others, and is able to still have stuff to watch when the dish goes out, which is frequently.

My dad had the same mindset as wanne, but got tired of having issues with the dish and the high cost, plus he now has a vacation house on the river. He just wanted something that had a real guide, similar to what he was used to using. He tried fubo and liked it, and loved not having to pay for two services for his two locations. Hes on directtvstream now, and likes it more. He also uses netflix, hbomax, and the espn app now, but he’s a channel surfer so he doesn’t like the other apps as much. Him and his wife love being able to take their service with them wherever they go, and he’s over the clunkyness of the setup. The benefits far outweigh the negatives.

I do. I have all the channels I want, one remote and great service. I have been with them for 30 years and they give me special deals. If I changed to streaming services I would not get want I want and it would only save me about 15 dollars a month-not worth it.

I use one remote on all my tv’s. Control the tv, soundbar, and roku’s with one little tiny remote. I save more than $15 and have access to a whole lot more content.
