Lol... evidently. we have 100 numbers (0-99) for 85 scholarship players and not one collage coach gives out non duplicated numbers. Why is that even a thing?

IMO, he took shortcuts. He wins a game or two because he "let the inmates run the asylum." He was NOT going to go to the SECC last year. And so...

What did he give up for those one or two wins? My guess is, he was never in it for the big prize, he is leveraging his reputation to make a LOT of money.

Do you want a coach who will deliver 7-8 wins each year, with an occasional 9-10 wins, but never gets to "the promised land" and cleans up financially, or do you want a HC who wants to get there and will take the steps to get there?

Now, I did not say Napier has it all worked out. I am merely saying his goal is the whole enchilada. Kelly's goal, IMO, is to get damn wealthy at the expense of the LSU faithful.

 

And a WHOLE lot of number 2!!!

you can clearly see White was All-Sec with Torrence.

Single digits are cool. Think about every recruiting photo you have seen, how many are wearing a number >9?

How long was Kelly at ND?
11 years, doesn’t seem like he just cut an ran for the cash, he was there long enough to know getting those top top guys wasn’t gonna happen often enough due to ND’s administration.
The opportunity to get those guys year in and year out is at LSU.
Most coaches would take that opportunity as well.

 

Just to point out you should based recruiting on signed classes and use of the portal.
Given that criteria I don’t think it’s an A- more like a B-

It does keep players happy and in an NIL, Portal, constant recruiting baby the players world, that matters.

LOL do they? You don't think Bama and Georgia are doing the same things to placate and recruit? They are. This is a completely different era of players and restrictions on what you can dictate and do to players on and off the field.

 

Tgat rb for a Bama that was so good a couple years ago tells a way different story about Saban definitely not kissing his ass.
