He's had 2 losing seasons in 18 years and has won at least the division 1/3 of the time he has been HC. His start wasn't hot but there was obvious improvement there so let's see how things shape up at the end of this year.

I got no issue with the message of patience, though.

How about you end up letting anothe r program hire the 13-0 coach because you decided you need 5+ seasons to figure out whether this current 6-8 coach can get it done?

I think it's funny how many people think it's so easy to find a coach to take us to the promised land. There is literally only 5 active head coaches who have won a title.

No doubt. Firing BN anytime soon would be bad.

However, reading “rumors” that Brian Kelly and Lincoln Riley expressed interest in UF and that was never explored. That would be concerning. Again no way to know that’s true. SS went right to BN. He’s hitched his job on this decision. Let’s hope it works out. Plenty of positives off the field, but there is some concerns where it counts.

I was just providing a little context that they’ve actually been good before the last two years.

    13-0
    10-3
    10-3

Nice run there. Of course they have down years too because they can’t get the recruiting pipeline like a bama or Georgia to maintain that level of consistency.

That and they also play in the pac 12 which is like the 4th toughest P5 conference maybe the 5th because at least the ACC has had a national title winners a couple times the last decade

I think Riley was interested in an easy path to the playoff (easier than the B12). I don't think there was any way he was coming to the SEC.

took it to us pretty good and took us to the wire at home with AR. Give them their dues. No matter what conference you play in it’s hard to have a perfect season. Not like they are getting SEC recruits out there.

Probably true. Just remember reading it a couple times. But like anything on the internet, you have to read it with some skepticism.

How about you fantasize some more about this 13-0 coach, whoever he is.

If you watch it through, you will see that with 6 minutes left in the game, Napier/Armstrong decided to defend a field goal with 8, yes 8, players. Shameful that Utah didn't see it either and score a TD off of it. Terrible coaching on both sides.

I wasn't taking a shot at them as a team. They are well coached and play tough but let's not kid our selves. It's easier to get up for a tough game every few weeks or in some conferences once or twice a season where as in the SEC ots a week in a week out gauntlet. Shit last year Mizzou took UGA to the wire and had them in upset alert.

I think it's funny how many people think if you don't praise everything a coach does means you want them fired.

Undisciplined football leads to 24-11 loss in Utah | GatorCountry.com

“The offensive line was all over the place which didn’t help the run game production. However, there’s no world where Montrell Johnson and Trevor Etienne should have a combined total of 10 carries in four quarters of football.”

“I think a lot of it has to do with the way they play, but there’s no doubt that’s an area where we need to improve,” Napier said on the run production. “We’ve got to get production out of the two backs. We’ve got to give them an opportunity to impact the game. Then when we did run it, I don’t necessarily think it was as effective as we would want it to be. I can tell you more after we watch the tape. In general, there’s no question, we have to run the ball effectively in the future.”

I shake my head a bit at this, he called the plays, he put the game plan together. They really didn’t try to run much, it was clear the game plan right from the start was to throw it and often. If this team can’t run the ball, with those 2 special backs, they won’t win many games this season, imho.

I doubt there is much validity in a bunch of anonymous posters who only come out of the woodwork and create new accounts just to rip and disparage the team and staff when we lose but hide under a rock for 95% of the rest of the year. At least it Makes me have more respect for the mainstay posters who at least criticize the team all year-long. They at least tend to contribute a bit of substance. Never seen so Many "Recruits" pop up in my decade plus of roaming this site.

I never even said the word "fired" but the poster I was responding to alluded to it though by saying " maybe we should let the other team get the 13-0 coach while we wait and hold.on to the losing coach to see if he gets it right" can you tell me what he was referring to if not firing a coach to get another one that is "13-0". ? Please help me understand
