Really no different than your assumption. If he was "invested" then why did he leave, along with quite a few others after the season? You do realize THE best time to jump ship would have been right after the 2022 O-B game and any post-spring feedback from the coaches.

He took over a program that was essentially broken (and likely still is) and won a game or two that he probably should not. They were not in contention for the SECC. And he was coming in to "clean up the mess", not unlike Napier here. You think his coaches were WAY better in communicating what is the new regime than Napier and Company? Enough to can who is maybe THE best DB coach in college?

What it says to me is, "I will win one more game in order to assuage the paying masses" by letting the inmates continue to run the asylum. You think the players learned anything from last year, except that Kelly is "flexible"?

I agree, it is just that we are sort of in the "Kevin Bacon" mode, a la Animal House...

Kelly took a bag, Napier waited for the right job and negotiated a ton of commitments from the administration before he took the job. Napier had a clear vision and was waiting for the right school to see it through…Kelly took the huge contract and bolted. No time to have a methodical process when you’re chasing the bag like a carrot on a stick

I think you've convinced yourself that Kelly isn't building things the right way. I have no idea what you can point to that supports that, though.

I dislike lsu immensely but I have no idea what some of you are seeing that's got you convinced that what Kelly did last year was a bandaid. I guess we will find out.

Say whatever you want, Kelly is a proven Winner as much as I dislike him. The recruiting video he did with Walker Howard was creepy.

My post above seems clear as clear water to me. You choose to not see it. Smoke IS a sign of fire. You don't need a quote from an arsonist proclaiming "I started the fire!" Try harder, if you can.

Why do you think he is "doing it well"? Again, LSU was (and likely still is) a dumpster fire. He won a game or two that he "inspired the troops." In my book, what he did was enable those folks who were invested in the old ways to continue. And what does he get in return? He wasn't going to go to the SECC. So, he will NOW have their attention to do it the right way? Really?

And as User is postulating, it was NEVER about getting to the promised land, it is about HUGE paydays until LSU decides they want to change their fortunes. I think his playbook is Calipari's. Good for him. S__ks for the LSU faithful.

I don't even know what you are trying to argue at this point. You brought Kelly up and juxtaposed his approach with Napier's. You seem to think that Kelly's way isn't going to be sustainable. I've asked you to lay out why you think that and all you've come back with is "he won a couple of games he wasn't supposed to, which inspired confidence." And? That's really the argument?

    Again....

You want "proof" that someone started a fire. I am merely saying there IS smoke, and where there is smoke...

Do you not understand the concept of "enabling"?

This is college football. Winning teams are built on smoke if not outright fire.

Utah's defense is pretty good. they wanted to play well after AR torched them last year. plus replacing 4 linemen and losing our starting center didn't help matters. our talent level is not where it needs to be (thanks Mullen) but if we can build on this top 5 class we will see improvement.

Is it... too many cooks in the kitchen? Or... is it mental errors? It's not strength and size, or lack of physicality.

From the little of the game I did see, Wilson looked like he has earned the right to play much more receiver.
