Worst coached game I've watched in a decade. Too much BS and coach speak, he failed the players. Pretty clear this team was not prepared to play a football game. That uniform penalty cost us the game, changed everything.
how does not a single coach see that and call a timeout.

This isn't pee wee football, that mistake is unacceptable at this level.

Your on the road record sucks Coach.

    “We gotta get better”

    Probably a good idea.

Is it me or does the dude not seem pissed about the result. It’s almost like that was just a scrimmage (teachable game).

This is where process guys in general scare me. They can’t brake out of their methodologies to scan the conditions on the ground.

That uniform penalty did not cost us the game. Maybe it would have been 17-11. Still, I wonder why some equipment manager isn't monitoring how many jerseys there are and that no numbers are duplicated.

They allow number duplication between the O and D because all the players want that "special" number. They just forgot to factor in Special teams, (Duh!). Personally, I think its dumb to have a #1 or #21 on a Defensive lineman, but every team does it.

That team looked slow and lethargic last night. Didn’t see a lot of intensity. That is concerning for first game of season 2 on the road.

I didn’t see bad playcalls. I saw quarterback throw for over 300 yards and a running game that just wasn’t there. What plays can he call, more running plays?

I wonder if, like, a ST coach would have put it together that he had two players with the same jersey number?

Nah. ST by committee is probably the best practice.

Why mess with what is clearly working?

This is a stupid post. Spare us the drama - the 2x#3 penalty did not cost us the game. Dumb yes, but come on man. Sounds crazy as bad as things went last night, but we were only down 13 with a whole quarter to play. Everything that could go wrong went wrong, yet that game was still up for grabs at the end of the 3rd.

Too many rookies on a team still trying to come together. For some this was their first college game. It’s totally unrealistic to expect this team under these circumstances to play anything close to mistake-free football in week one. Probably 3/4 of the team that beat Utah last year is gone from the roster.

Hitting the road for 2000 miles to play a veteran ranked team in week 1 was a setup for failure for this raw young squad. A week 1 cupcake would have changed everything.

Offensive line was the worst unit out there - but they’re also the last to start functioning as a cohesive unit. They’ll get better and so will this team. Spare us the drama. We lost by 13 points to a veteran ranked team on the road. It was ugly but there were also quite a few bright spots. If you can’t see them, you either aren’t trying, or you don’t know shit.

Interesting. Maybe you were recharging your beer when the QB repeatedly threw the ball short of the line to gain on third down.

But, hey, maybe you’re right. If we just stick with that method, eventually it has to work, yeah?

Delivers the post game the same way he coaches on the sideline. No emotion, he really believes he can just run it like a business. Not sure he gets the SEC intensity. I’d be in spurriers ear asking for advice and having him out at practice constantly.

Utah was missing 8 starters. We were just as experienced.

"The penalties are really surprising ... those are the things that we can control. Ultimately, there were too many of those things in my opinion." I get that this is coach speech, but dude, it's really ok to just say that the players have to play better if they want to win. Saban would just say it, not couch it in 'well, that's my opinion' language. Duh, of course it's everyone's opinion. The players gave away their chance to win because they made mistakes that gave Utah extra chances. If they want to win games, they have to stop making dumb mistakes. It's not really a debate, and if they don't fix it they will keep losing.
