Quite possibly one of the worst halfs I’ve ever seen. Makes ya wonder what were all the practices.

 

Exactly, that's what folks aren't talking about. Even without the penalty, he would have had us darn near on the goal line. lol

 

Surprised no one mentioned kelby Collins getting dragged down after blowing up his man on the last deep throw into double coverage. Certainly can't complain about refs with as bad as we've played but that was egregious.

 

Let’s just call that first half uninspiring.

 

I thought it was Marshall that caught it and assumed Wilson was a gunner?

 

Man... That was one heck of a mistake filled quarter. I still think we can win this game, but holy crap we need to get our heads in it.

 

Coaches do not play- all the false starts and the sacks are on the players

 

At least we kept the scoring streak alive.

I was 100% percent for firing Mullen and liked the Napier hire,but seeing the exact same crap with false starts and stupid penalties. Utah had 2 WIIIIIIIIIDE open receivers drop balls to keep the game within 2 touchdowns. At least with Mullen we had a good offense.

 

This program really feels like it’s in free fall.

I just hope that there’s a Nick Saban or a Kirby Smart out there somewhere that can save us from this one day.

The O-line sucked last year, too. The difference is Ant was able to wiggle himself out of sacks due to pure athleticism. Mertz doesn't have that talent, and the scoreboard is reflecting that.
Mertz stat line at the half is: 8-14 for 113, 3 sacks, -13 rush yards.

 

He covered up tons of concerns with this offense. Don’t forget he kept us in a lot of games we have no business probably being in.
