Pre-Game Discussion: FLORIDA at #14 Utah

Lots of red shirts around the stadium! Just saw a UT cart headed into the stadium with official UT decals… and big letters on the sides spelling in all caps another corporate name… GATORADE! Just a few Gator fans spotted so far. Got a reciprocal chomp from a couple. Go Gators. 89 degrees at street level.

Hopefully none of our players get a nose bleed. Thats the only way that I see elevation being a factor. Florida 24 Utah 20. Go Gators! Beat Utah!

 

Pegs is more catered towards the locals and I rarely go in Crabs.

 

S Jordan Castell was by far my favorite Freshman in last years class. His measurements and skill set is off the charts. Starting tonight.

Please tell me objectively how I am wrong. I said I hope I am wrong, very wrong, and we come out on fire.

But, there's so many factors going into this game that I didn't even mention that I think is stacked against us. Cross-country road game, altitude, first game for many players, etc. etc.

I just hope we avoid the big mistakes and give ourselves a fighting chance.

 

One distinct advantage UF has tonight is they are the big unknown in this game, imho. Everyone knows Utah and what they do, they’re a well oiled machine that grinds teams down. What UF is now and what they’re going to do tonight is a mystery. I’m sure the Utah staff watched a bunch of Wisconsin tape to scout Mertz. He will be running a completely different system at UF though. He’s looked very sharp in practice. If that conveys to the game, I very much like our chances tonight.

 

Nothing can describe the jittery feeling of gameday truly euphoric!

I'm truly hoping we call our plays so that our opponent has no idea ahead of time if it will be a run or pass.

I only say that as a response because having track star WR's (obviously) works best when they don't know we're throwing to them.

If I recall he was eager to announce to the Gators and was the "worst kept secret " Gator recruit because of it. He's the one that wanted to announce on a family members birthday ? He's been on my radar given his build and reports as someone who could be an immediate impact. Surprised how quiet people have been about him to this point.
