All day yesterday I was geeked up for the game. Not paint my face or anything, but just getting ready to kick off the season and watch. Was driving home from work looking for it on the radio, came home looking for it on tv, and then realized it was Wednesday, and we had another day to go. It was a strange mix of emotions realizing that I had spent the entire day thinking it was a different day. Kinda like when you grab what you think is your wife from behind to find out you just freaked some poor unknowing person out.

-- It doesn't really matter whether Rising plays for Utah because its defense will keep the Gators offense in check for a full four quarters. Yes, Florida's running back duo of Montrell Johnson Jr. and Trevor Etienne is great, but the Utes defense focus on them and force quarterback Graham Mertz to beat them with his arm. He isn't capable of doing that. The Utes offense will do enough to control the game from the start and pull away for a double-digit win in the fourth quarter. Prediction: Utah (-6.5) -- Barrett Sallee

I'm admittedly not into betting, but how does a double digit win prediction equate to a 6.5 point line?

 

The betting line is Utah -6.5 (it’s actually less now I believe)
Barrett Sallee is predicting Utah will win by double digits.
That has nothing to do with the line, he doesn’t set it.
He’s wrong, imho.

Strangely, it doesn't seem like opening day, even though it is for us. Maybe it's because it's a Week 0 game, maybe it's because it's a rare away game to start the season. We're usually at home in a non-conference warm-up game, not away facing a 14th-ranked team that has a chip on their shoulder for Florida after a close loss last year. I did wake up and put my Gator gear on this morning, none-the-less...

it was a Blue moon last night and will be an Orange and Blue moon tonight

 

Call me a negagator, but I don't see this going well for us, even with Rising out. They've had months to prepare a QB package for their walk-on and they have a stout defense. Given how we ended the season mentally, it's tough to recover from that, even with the slew of transfers and newcomers.
