I haven’t touch it since the mid-80s (and never did it very much even then). However, I have to admit there’s a part of me that is curious…

If banning would slow the rates down, it's probably only a small effect, in line w/some estimates that have found about a 4% - 6% increase in accidents & deaths associated w/ legalization.

I never bought them at top prices. If you waited till about 5 months ago, and you invested in the right company, then you will see a pop... I know I invested in the right company... they are NOT all the same. ;)

Recent studies reveal pot heads have elevated levels of heavy metals, including lead, in tissues and bloodstream.

THC stored in the body's fat cells I would presume is what he meant.

I wasn't overweight though. I was just a very heavy smoker at the time. The failed drug test ended up being a blessing though as it was for nursing school. I would have hated that job, and now make much more money than my nurse sister.

    Alcohol-Related Deaths

Drunk Driving | Statistics and Resources | NHTSA

These stats don't address productivity loss, divorce, domestic violence, arrests, petty and violent crime etc etc

Part of the honest discussions starts with not considering anyone that uses Marijuana a "pothead."

A pothead is a pothead and a drunk is a drunk although I'd argue that one drunken night or the occasional drinker does more harm than the occasional pot smoker.....by a longshot.

I know a lot of people who smoke weed or take edibles. Not a one has developed psychosis. What is the likelihood of doing so? If it's low (and I expect it is), why should we restrict people's freedom over something unlikely to happen? Shouldn't we make people aware of the risks and let them decide for themselves?

Many of the same people that fight more strict gun regulation don't want to legalize Marijuana while advocating alcohol consumption. All for the greater good.

Some people are all over the road.

Yeah, I don't know how many Americans have developed psychosis, but about half of Americans have tried marijuana and almost half of that subgroup have done it in the last year. Those are big denominators. Also, the notion of criminalizing something that half the country has done and many do at least annually seems like a recipe for selective enforcement and waste of resources.

I wish legal weed were that simple of a concept, but you are leaving out so much more on how legal weed effect our society in general. But we already have medical marijuana for those in pain and that are suffering... so there is no other reason to make it recreational.

Alcohol is legal and it is far more damaging to our society. What effect does weed have on our society?
