Wife’s new shirt from the summer. Bought at Aqua East in St Augustine. They did not have a medium for me. Manager said they sold out quickly twice. So expect they will get them back. Could go online but going to wait to support the local shop.
I actually like Florida (with the exception of the summer heat). What's funny about that shirt to me is that a lot of Republicans have for years been saying "don't come here" because they don't want liberals moving in (not saying that is your wife's intent). In actuality, I think the people moving here from other states is a key reason Florida is turning darker red. Also, I think that started before Covid but not saying that didn't matter too.
They’re not sending their best, let me tell you. Some bad hombres lol. Just kidding. My fairly recent arrival NY friends where I live are pretty moderate, like to drink, and are excellent Italian cooks. My dad came to Florida from NY as a kid for that matter. There’s long been a pipeline of sorts.
That's the point. Nobody thinks Florida itself sucks, just a growing segment of its population and a huge portion of its leadership.
I agree with you. I have had multiple conservative friends say they are worried about the politics moving here. I tell them I disagree. My wife’s intent would be mine as I would have a matching one if they had my size. Florida is at capacity. We don’t want more development. There is a reason we chose Flagler and Palm Coast for a get away. We don’t want the concrete. That said…they are developing on US 1. Just hope they stand strong to keep the beaches and intracoastal capped where it is at now minus the developments that still have lots. Have not played it yet (hooked a Tarpon/flounder/trout/snook by one of its holes)…but now on a mission to find a member to get me on the Rees Jones Creek Course. “Pristine Environment with Marsh, Creek and Forest Views It all starts when the private gates swing open and you wind your way to the clubhouse. You just know you are approaching something very special. The Rees Jones golf course design has both marsh and creek views that are truly spectacular. The golf course is designed to showcase its environment rather than distract from it. It is intentionally understated and fits perfectly into the nature preserve it is a part of. It complements its environment rather than imposes on it. The native oaks and palms and undisturbed conservation area are featured along with abundant wildlife. No Homes, Ever… There will never be any homes built at the Creek Golf Course. The Creek was designed to be a true, private golfing experience, in concert with the terrain that surrounds it and the wildlife that lives in it. It is meant to be pure golf. There are, intentionally, minimal on-course services at the Creek to keep the layout and the amenities true to the original vision for the course. No holes, pathways or structures are contrived and, where they exist, they have been minimized so as not to detract from the natural setting….” https://www.hammockdunesclub.com/web/pages/creek-course
The New Yorker that pressure washed our building gave me a Trump $2000 bill when he finished a few years ago lol. Good dude!
Florida haters should look at the bright side. In another century or so, the whole state will be underwater. For that matter, in another century or so the whole planet will be uninhabitable. Not because of "climate change" - that's a scientific hoax for conspiracy nuts - but because, well, it's just so damn hot!
My thinking is if you have to go out of your way to say something doesn't suck, it probably does. "Actually Showgirls is a modern masterpiece, the acting is supposed to be bad"
Unfortunately you have a government here (and lets face it, everywhere) that takes lots and lots of money from developers and has a slavish devotion to an ideology in which endless growth is an inherent assumption. And all you got was a lousy T-shirt.
My only T-shirt concern is that the shirt must have a V neck. I'd like to design and market a T-shirt that says "T-Shirts With Writing on Them Suck."
