Yep, 100%. If this had happened to Biden they would be talking about it 24/7 on Fox News for the next week. Instead, they’ll sweep it under the rug and make hardly a mention of it.
Yup. Heck, we even have a poster in here who is doing their best to deflect from Mitch’s glitch by bringing up Biden multiple times.
I’m not a big McConnell fan, but imo he does stand up to the crazy maga conspiracies and ideas, and our country needs that.
The really sad thing is how much power the folks in our government have, they can't seem to realize when it is time to go enjoy the rest of their lives and give it up. Sadly, we see this on both sides of the aisle, it is too important for both sides to maintain power, keep the seat either R or D, then to realize it is time to go. I think it is as much the folks around the office holder as much as the office holder themselves. If you hold the office but can't function very well, who is making the decisions? They are the same folks that may have enough influence to help you move on and give up the power. We need some drastic changes, just hope we have a country left by the time we are willing to make the country our team, not one side of the aisle vs the other.
It's not just the power or my side/your side with these folks. The money they ALL seem to accumulate while making only less than 200,000 a year is the real reason they stay until they can't wipe themselves anymore. Too much money to let go. And they get all of that to do basically nothing anymore.
Much like Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, Jerry Nadler, Dianne Feinstein, and Maxine Waters, Mitch McConnell is no longer able to fulfill his job duties and should step down.
I remember when General McArthur in his farewell speech quoted the saying, "Old soldiers never die, they just fade away." It seems like there should be a saying (which I'm old enough to appreciate) in the DC halls of power, "Old codgers never die, they just fall around."

Clearly something is going on there. I have sympathy for whatever it is, and hope the best for him. But I think there is an issue to be discussed with politicians getting this old. That said I’d take Mitch McConnell in any mental state vs the likes of a younger Matt Gaetz.
Its so hard to be definitive on these topics. My 94 year old neighbor can work some folks my age under the table and tell you the smallest details from his childhood. Has no signs of decline other than a bad back. But we have to do something. Mitch should never be elected to office again.
Not a fan of his by any means but hate to see this. I thought I'd read a partisan concern about Feinstein leaving office that related to judicial appointments, suggesting that Republicans could keep her successor of the committee for the time being. Is that even true? And is there a similar argument with McConnell? I am not sure how the special elections would work or how it may affect key votes/business.
