I think you’re missing the OR on the side. When that’s the case, both players are slotted in that spot like Kimber/Moore.

Livingston is the biggest surprise since he wasn't around for spring. Though being named as a starter at the second TE position doesn't mean he's going to be on the field on the first play from scrimmage.

A bit of a surprise to see Castell ahead of Moten. Wondering if there's a need to have more speed at the position against Utah.

Six true freshmen in the two deep is encouraging. The last two DB classes are going to make a huge difference down the line.

Looks like K. Harris is the jack of all trades on the OL, backing up at three different positions.

I like that our coach/s will start the best play even if they are true freshman like TE Livingston and DB Castell.

I also think these starting positions are subject to change and move around during the year... with may players getting in during the games as the starters tire and get rotated in and out of the line-up. We have a solid group of players and rotational guys behind them... this year's team has much more talented depth than last year's squad had.

That means we can play aggressive football like we did in the 3rd quarter of the UGA... but instead of playing like that for only one quarter we can play that way ALL GAME LONG. This is what excites me the most about their year's team.

Hopefully Moten and Mitchell will get plenty of run and stay happy campers. We're going to need both of those guys to be contributors to have a good season. Not a big fan of having little experience at the safety position.

I thought Arlis Boardingham was set to break out - seeing him 3rd string isn't a great start. Even his mom was talking him up like two-weeks ago on Twitter.

As long as the best players are starting, no one should upset. If they want to play, get better and prove it.

He will get his plays. Do something if he wants more. I’m surprised Livingston is a one.

    Questions:

    1. Why is WR Taylor Spierto a former walk on listed as a 3 on the depth chart?

    2. Has the move to defense for Ja'Markis Weston become permanent? He's listed as a S on the roster and a 3 LB on the depth chart. How did he do on defense in fall ball and is he a legitimate option at LB? He has good size at 6'3"/230.

I think we're starting to see a reflection of getting a little depth. Hard workers who live right getting rewarded and others getting prodded.

I can't wait to see some cream rise to the top.

Methinks it is "A" for the fieldwork and "C" for off-the-field perspective. Napier is all about the process and not about the immediate. All we can do is to see whether the entire team embraces it or huffs off, a la the current transfer mess.

It's week one in the 2023 season... there will be movement in the starting line-up like there has been every single season. Being 2 is not a death sentence for those players in the depth chart. Now being 3 means something... you need to work your way back into the rotation.
