I agree with your second statement... the Feds are the biggest problem to state's freedoms concerning weed and other drugs/medicines.

Well, the problem is since it is recognized by the federal government as a schedule 1 drug, right there with cocaine, it's against federal law. Since that is the case, the cost is high, it can't got through the banks (cash only mostly), and you can't take it with you across state lines. Insurance doesn't cover it either. It's better than alcohol since instead of getting angry or crazy, they get hungry and lazy/sleepy! So why not make it legal, at both the state and federal level, collect the taxes on it, and let people be?

The criminalization of marijuana causes more harm than marijuana itself ever could. It's odd to me that there's a debate going on about non-binding alcohol guidelines when people are literally being arrested and locked up for marijuana.

There is a group trying to get abortion on the ballot for 2024, I'm sure Tallahassee will do more of the same to block it.

Probably not. Those stocks got way ahead of themselves and crashed hard. They need banking reform at the federal level...

It makes too much sense for the federal government to remove it from the scheduled substances list. You’re acting like they are good at these things. Not having it go through the banks is a nice way to encourage money laundering. Perhaps it’s a trap of sorts for the time being, but then I’d be giving them too much credit.

Fred disagrees lol. Care to elaborate?

Anyone who thinks alcohol isn't worse than Marijuana is still gripped by the lifelong and BS stigma Marijuana has been unnecessarily given. The local newspaper had multiple DUI death stories in just the past month alone. As someone who works in public service i have first hand accounts of the havoc alcohol has wrought on society. But it's acceptable so the righteous narrow minded hypocrites will continue to refuse to open their minds that Marijuana just might not be the devil they've been sold it to be their whole lives.....as they go enjoy happy hour somewhere.

Big Pharma will fight hard to keep cannabis listed as a schedule 1 drug. Don't want it cutting into their profits.

We're all grown ups. Legalize it.

There's no reason why I can go buy a big bottle of 190 proof Everclear, but can't sit at home with a doobie and watch the game.

I don't know how the growers, labs and dispensaries deal with the money issue but it's not a problem for me as a consumer. I almost always used cash but I can actually use my debit card if I agree to the $4.00 service fee. If you do use a debit card, they round up the payment to the nearest 10 dollars and give you change for the difference.

The startup cost for growers, labs and dispensaries is off the charts in many states, especially in Illinois, and that's passed on to consumers. But prices here are starting to come down, mostly because of increased competition. Craft grower licenses are not being approved at a much faster rate. The number of grow operations from new license holders and the existing big-cannabis players has exploded in the last year and a half.

I don't worry about crossing state lines unless I'm flying. Even then, TSA on this end doesn't seem to care. About a year ago, I was running late for a flight and didn't have time to check my bag so it was spot searched at the TSA checkpoint. My vape battery and cartridge rolled out of a pocket while the guy was searching and he just slipped it back in. Only thing he took from me was my shave gel. I never fly to Florida without some form of cannabis.

This is not your Vietnam uncles backyard plant this stuff is super dangerous. We have enough morons drinking their lives away every day with additional drugs.

Eating food can be addictive and kills more people in the U.S. than anything else.

Funny you mention that. I don’t drink anymore but was experimenting with making a marijuana tincture. Basically you take 28 grams of pot crumble and bake it then put it in a mason jar with a 8-10oz of everclear that’s been sitting in the freezer a week or so. Shake madly for two minutes then strain through coffee filter. Makes a 50mg/dropper. POW! to the moon. But I digress.

Here in Tampa you can’t buy that or even 151. Limited to 100 proof. Turned out OK but higher proof means better absorption of cannabis.

    VERY UNFAIR!

You can. You just have to pay a ‘doctor’ $200, tell them you have migraines, cut the state their cut, and voila, you are a ‘patient’.
