I wish he would come snatch the bottle out of my SIL’s hands so that she would quit drunk dialing me.
At the risk of sounding overly libertarian, there is an argument that has some meat to it that the FDA doing their job actually costs more US lives from delays than it saves from weeding out unsafe medications. I’m agnostic on the question, but the fact that it’s an open question among people that study it suggests that we don’t have a totally firm grip on the problem. I think as rule, I do believe that people underestimate the power of society to discover knowledge for itself. This power may be quite limited when the phenomenon occurs on long time scales, eg climate change, but for things like choosing fast acting medication, we probably don’t really much help.
perhaps I’ve told this story before. I’m at that age. when I was an auditing intern at an accountingn firm we audited Stetson university. I was working on accounts receivable confirmation from students. That basically is a process that you verify the receivable is correct by the student responding “yes I owe this” The confirmations from undergrads were pretty straightforward - yes I owe this, no that’s wrong, I don’t understand this, etc. The confirmations from law students were - I am legally not required to answer this!! - the university is violating my rights!! - This is unconstitutional!! - if his is not correct I will take legal action!!
I respectfully disagree. Many conservatives who think they libertarian are selectively so. They aren’t so libertarian when it comes to legislating moral and cultural value issues.
Perhaps. Selective libertarian may be a better definition. Heck we are all selective. You certainly have some conservative areas and I have some liberal ones. It's odd that we have painted ourselves into such a few corners.
It's top 10, but the guy who knows more about vaccines than the CDC and other experts holds #1 for me.
Dilly Dilly was the peak of BL. Still didn’t buy it, but I did get the T-shirt. Dug it out today to infuriate the disciples. No one confronted me. Booooooroing!!!
What kind of Irish Administration recommends you consume only 2 beers per week? Not sure about the rest of you, but come Thursday I'll be drinking 2 beers every half-hour. Biden’s alcohol czar warns new guidance could be only 2 beers a week (msn.com)
