So you were looking for a "hit" piece?

Well, the players and to a lesser degree the staff did offer fodder in this direction. However the principal mission was football, not daycare.

If you are interested in this theme I would suggest a Miami, FSU, UF retrospective. All three programs, during championship years had plenty of players, performing thuggery, and acting out. As far as I recall the 96 UF squad didn't have too many black eyes but all three programs were at the top of that "bad-actor-player list" that used to circulate. I forget the exact site name.

That's from my memory- I believe he said that while he was here.
And as an obsessive fan, I actually agree knowing what I know about TT and SOS.
Spurrier didn't shower his recruits nor his players with praise/ loving attention.
I think knowing that- and with Shula in his ear- I think TT goes to Bama.
    Could be wrong- all theoretical.

Reportedly when Urban was the Jags' coach he didn't know who Aaron Donald was - "who's that 99 guy on the Rams?". Hard to know what was the real truth.

well THAT didn't work out so well for him

Don't recall hearing why he chose UF, except that he felt like that was where he was supposed to go

Maybe, ‘cept it doesn’t sound as though it was a he said/she said, but rather a he said/they said (2 girls, not 1) with a hush money bribe involved. Kinda stretches credulity to believe 2 young ladies conspired to frame him. Also, the penalty indicates there was enough evidence to warrant a pretty harsh out of court agreement.

It was a little before my time but wasn't Pell or Galen Hall busted for buying a bus ticket for a player so he could go to Jacksonville to see his kid? If that's a violation why wouldn't "buying" a spaghetti dinner for a player a violation? Unless I have the Pell thing wrong which is possible.

Galen allegedly sent $300 to Palatka via one of the Bromley twins to pay a child support bill for, I believe, Jarvis Williams. That's what go him fired, and cost us the 1990 SEC title.

As a teacher? Please. The girl withdrew the charges and the system overreacted. Chris probably said, "Who needs this?"

Fall on your sword then, if your time comes.

But: Chris was never charged with a crime.

Other than denying it, who was he supposed to fight?

Now my biggest concern is that after Chris Rainey said that on camera, the NCAA will strip UF of that 2008 championship and award it to OU. I hope that doesn’t happen since it was a team effort.

Really enjoyed watching it, far more positives than negatives, imho. What a 5yr run!

Brandon Siler was a savage beast, incredible heart & drive.
    Urban was very candid.
    The mat drills were brutal.
Right from the start winning was expected.
    The Cock block was yuuuggge!
Destroying the Bucknuts was a thing of beauty.
The 07 recruiting class was incredible.
Tim had immense pressure on him.
The 07 season should’ve been better.
Seeing Cam running around in uniform, if only he…smh
The amount of elite top-shelf talent on those team was incredible.
    Grown men, big, strong, fast….unreal!
Brandon Spikes grew up bigtime in just a couple of years.
Still can’t believe they lost the Ole Miss game.
Those 2 NCG’s in Glendale & Miami were awesome to attend!
Sam Bradford should return Tim’s 2nd Heisman.
    09 should’ve been the 14-0 season, finally.
Who was the OC in 09??
Urban should not have rescinded his resignation, he was done.
Those defenses were absolutely stout, what’s really missing now.
Wish more players would’ve been able to participate in this.
The closing scene at the lake was really nice to see.

I will always wonder what could’ve been had Urban not scrambled his marbles. He was just wound way too tight, had no off ramp. Wish he would’ve held together and been at UF for 20yrs.

I would like to snap those goofy blue glasses in half and choke that big eared pencil neck geek out!!! :emoji_rage:

Two other things struck me after watching the first 2 episodes (2 more to go):

    1) Dallas f’n Baker - what a stud

    2) Urban Meyer - this show really puts the stress into perspective. Unreal pressure. Unreal commitment right on up to when he started to break. I’m back on board for putting Urbs in the ROH. Who is anybody to cast aspersions on the job he did as our head coach? What a reality check. Put him in the ROH - he deserves it. Period

Does this change anyone’s opinion on Urban and the RoH?
